Husband and I spent a couple of nights, our very first time in Rome. Owner Laura very helpful, even writing to us in advance to provide easy way (same price as public transportation for shared shuttle van. We appreciated her orientation to the city and map. Loved our spacious room with AC & interesting windows that open in two different... More

Laura, the owner, went out of her way to make us feel welcome and at home, from contacting us in advance to give us advice on how to get from the airport to booking a taxi for us on departure. Cooking tips were free! Our room and bathroom were spotless as was the entire home. There was no noise from... More

I have been to Italy four times in my life, and to Europe many, many times. Nowhere in Italy, and few places in all of Europe compare with the hospitality and overall experience encountered at Laura's hotel. Rome is hot, crowded, and generally trying at times, and returning to the comfort of Hotel Aldebaran provided a much needed respite to... More

Laura is a wonderful hostess at this lovely centrally-located bed and breakfast just a short walk away from The Colosseum. The rooms are very comfortable and beautifully decorated in a very chic fashion! Be aware that not all of the guest rooms are ensuite. Breakfast was provided each morning with delicious coffee and fresh breads and hard-boiled eggs, fresh juice... More

Laura is a standout for this place to stay. Not only she is informative, funny and warm, but is kind. She really seem to care about your stay in her bnb as well as Rome itself. As everyone else has pointed out, it is very close to the Collosseum, Manzoni station etc etc. Breakfast is delicious and filling for those... More

We returned from Rome 11 days ago. I'm already ready to return and a lot of that feeling is connected to Aldebaran and Laura. I've taken to calling her our hostess instead of a proprietor or any other term because she really does play hostess to you - serving you a delicious breakfast wish warm croissants, hard boiled eggs, meats... We spent a wonderful three nights at Laura's magnificent home. She was a superb host who took her guests' enjoyment of their holiday as being of prime importance and demonstrated professionalism in doing so. She took time out to patiently explain some of the top places to see in Rome, upgraded us for one of the nights whilst another room... More

Bed was comfy. Good location only 5 min walk to train and 15 walk to the collaseum. Breakfast was good. House was clean and unique. Bathroom was clean. Was a good first bed and breakfast experience. Only issue was other couple used bathroom for a long time in the morning and used all the hot water.

If you are looking for a place to stay in Rome this is the place. Laura was amazing, very helpful and friendly. The day we arrived she sat down with us and explain the city, things to avoid and were to go. Our room was beautiful and very big, our private bathroom was very nice too. The view from the... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Aldebaran b&b, situated in the heaart of Rome, was born in March 2006 in Laura Tiberi's family house. It all started with her imagination, from souvenirs of trips made, and the historical memory to which this place belongs. The idea was to create a unique location, full of charm decorated with warm colors and styles, between the private dwelling and a real and refined hospitality. Breakfast is served in a quiet and bright living room where you can breathe an atmosphere which makes you feel at home but in a mixture of cultures and languages. The homemade bread, the water taken directly from the source, the aroma of our coffee "espresso", a delicious cappuccino, made from a special recipe and other delicacies, make the start of your day a unique moment together with the sympathy of Laura who is always eager to give you valuable information and important tips to discover the beauties and treasures of the Eternal City ... more   less
