Excellent location - close to metro and bus stops, to Termini train station and also a few famous sights of the city are in walking distance. Many restaurants and cafés are nearby, too. To be honest, the building could use some renovation but overall it was fine, especially if you would only use your room to get some sleep after...

This review is identical to the one I submitted for Hotel Opera next door, because although I booked into Opera, I actually stayed in Centro so it seemed only fair to review it as well. Chose because of its location (close to Termini train Stn and walking distance to 'old' Rome centre: Foro Romano, Pantheon, Trevi fountain, etc, and its...

I agree that the hotel is well named as it is in walking distance of all the major tourist sites including a 30 minute walk to the Vatican (which on the map I thought it would be too far to walk) plus it is only a few blocks to Termini Station. I found the staff to be helful and very...

It’s been 3 weeks since I got back from Rome. I left Toronto on the 13th and arrived back on the 22nd. I can’t stop feeling angry and bitter about my accommodations room 304 at the Hotel Centro. My bed was less than 30 inches wide. The bed was pushed up along the wall. I pulled the bed away from...

Great location. Great service from all staff. Rooms very clean. Showers great. Great prices. Not far from train station a 5 minute walk. Easy walk to main attraction. Taxi is only 13 euro to Vatican City.

We arrived on a morning flight and ended up at 10 A.M at the hotel. We were quite surprised to be given a room in seconds, instead of being forced to wait in the lobby until 12 P.M check-in time. The old man at the reception isn't angry, he's just not talkative, he did everything quickly and efficiently. So we...

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights.the location is very good at heart of rome.you can walk to most tourist attractions.but the price was high for an old 3 star hotel. you can find much better deals nearby. and also note that there is an old guy at the reception in the mornings (i think he is the manager),...

Decent breakfast in the morning. Both our rooms (we stayed there on different days separately) were nice very clean and good beds. The bathrooms were newly...

We spent the first 4 nights of our trip here and were excited to spend an additional night upon return to Rome for our last night in Italy. The gentleman at the desk is very helpful and will suggest the best places to eat, and organise any transport you may need making things very simple in a big busy city....

Stayed here in 2010, so did not hesitate about staying here again. Were not disappointed. Staff very friendly, helpful and courteous. Rooms good size, clean but could stand some updating. As in previous reviews good selection of food for breakfast. Hotel centrally located, close to Termini so makes it handy to Metro as well as buses. Would definitely stay here...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
