We had a great stay here. It was one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed. The hotel itself might be 4 star, but the service is 5 star. You will be very well taken care of and the folks at the desk will learn your name. The breakfast was good, with espresso and fresh OJ and the room... More

My girlfriend and I spent two nights at the Diocleziano and had a fantastic time. The staff was incredible helpful and polite. And, on numerous occasions went out of their way to help us. The location is perfect for getting around Rome in an easy and quick manner. Will be staying there again when we return.

When planning to revisit Rome there was no hesitation in booking Hotel Diocleziano once again. The distance from Termini station is an obvious advantage though the area late at night can be a bit daunting however we just walked back in a different direction. All staff are friendly and the room was spacious, clean and the small fridge in the... More

This Hotel is about a five min walk from the train station. We didn't encounter any problems but the neighbourhood is a little run down. There was a naked lady going to the toliet in the street right next to the hotel. I did feel rather off put when walking to and from the hotel. We went to la famiglia... More

We began a 5 week trip in Italy and spent our first 4 nights in this wonderful hotel. We had completed 4 weeks of physically demanding village ministry in the north of Ghana, West Africa. Arriving in Rome late in the evening, we were thrilled with our room and the warm inviting staff at Hotel Diocleziano. They were gracious throughout... More

My family loved this hotel. It is a 5-minute walk from the main Termini train/metro station, and easily walkable to many landmarks and multiple metro lines. What stood out was the cleanliness and incredible comfort of the room, as well as little luxuries like fresh-squeezed orange juice at breakfast, a complimentary minibar, and a comfy king-sized bed. Staff were amazingly... More

This hotel was such a good find. It is only small but the staff have big hearts! All, from the porters to the reception staff were so kind, helpful and unfailingly cheerful. A special mention, however, must go to Imelda, our waitress, who not only ensured we had our freshly squeezed orange juice each morning and our choice of coffee,... More

We only stayed one night but it was in a perfect location for what we needed to do (central for a bit of walking and close to the railway station for renting a car the next day..) The staff were warm, courteous and spoke excellent English. The room was spotless and quiet and the bed very comfortable. The restaurant Culinaria... More

My family and I had two rooms for three night. The staff was great enough to accommodate the third person in our room. One of the rooms had a large terrace that was excellent for hanging out in the evenings. The hotel is very clean! The location is good because it's close to Termini metro station which is one of... It was our first choice when we decided to return to Rome. This is a lovely small friendly hotel. Fabulous staff. They happily provided ice for my daughter who had sprained her ankle. The rooms are comfortable and immaculately clean. The breakfast is great. Plenty of choice and such a lovely warm welcome every morning. This hotel is so well... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
