I chose this hotel based on it's proximity to the train station (it's about a 10 min walk) and because it included breakfast. My husband and I had a full travel itinerary and not having to search for a place to have breakfast gave us a smooth start to our day. Breakfast was very basic (not the healthiest) with mostly... My first visit to this hotel was in 1986 - it is a landmark for me. Convenient, folksy - especially with the vendor stalls opening early in the morning under your window. The city and the street had changed much since then but I am looking forward to returning here again soon.

Well it is a basic hotel, walking distance to the train station but, the only thing is the street have market every day ou tside , we could not sleep well they (the vendors) wake you up at 5 am with all the noises.

The area is great, close to bus and metro, near restaurants and good shopping. The hotel occupies the 2nd floor and has a old fashion 19th century (modernized) elevator. My room was clean and decent, with bath, not large (more like a college dorm room(. The staff are wonderful and speak English/American. But you can't beat the price - about... More

Definitely over sold on the web page which sold this hotel for us and not what we expected. However, on reflection the price paid was fair and this is a very basic but very clean and down to earth hotel. We had no problems as we only slept and showered in the room. We liked this hotel. It is supper... More

Great deal for 4 nights stay including breakfast. Area isn't the cleanest but don't let that put you off. The hotel is in a great location, so central and close to Termini station with loads of restaurants, shops, metro and train station. Quick walk to all the main sites. Breakfast included in stay which had variety and was unlimited -... More

The rooms are quite dark and small. But clean and tidy. Soaps, shampoo, towel, bedding etc . were changed every day. Hairdryer in bathroom. Good location, 5 mins walk to Termini station. 20-30 mins to Colosseo and other attractions. Helpful and welcoming staff. Breakfast is not so good, but who cares about it in Rome where there is great food... More

Stayed here as part of a group. Hotel was well situated, clean and welcoming. Rooms were small but comfortable and breakfast was adequate. Good value for money if what you want is a base for sightseeing.

This is a cozy three-star hotel. The staff is wonderful, friendly and pleasant. The rooms are small, but very clean and pleasant. The hotel itself is a good choice for lodging, but no other facilities. Breakfast was decent, but nothing more than that. The hotel is located near Termini Station and the Square of the Republic and has an excellent... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
