Stayed in lots of hostels across Europe but this one is probably the best. No hidden costs, great security and great fun. The staff were amazing especially; Alex(who has the patient of a saint even when dealing with a drunk Irish guy who has lost his phone) Giannina (so nice but she has my heart broken) Emmanuele(great welcome and didn't...

Awesome stay at the yellow! Has everything you need in a hostel: bed, safe, lock bin for stuff, free towels, great wifi. Add hooks on the bathroom door please!!! One main issue. The room where you can leave your stuff for the day has VERY lax security. The will give anyone the key (they don't even ask you name). And...

Hi Georgie, Thanks for your nice review. We are going to change our deposit room very soon, with cages for every guest. At the moment we keep an eye on the camera and staff goes regularly downstairs to have a look. We always recommend our guests to lock their bags to the shelves with padlocks. When the key is missing...

This hostel was excellent! They provide an endless amount of amenities to their guests including free towels, wifi, nightly events, free printing, tours, blowdryers, a hair salon, escape room etc etc. I could go on and on! I would suggest booking directly through their website as they will give you extra discounts on EVERYTHING including drinks! Great atmosphere and a...

This was my first time staying in a hostel and it was a great experience. Although I thought it was a little pricey, this hostel offers a lot of extra events, tours, and accommodations and is located very close to the bus/train station. I stayed in their 6-bed mixed dorm and it was spacious enough for all of us. Rooms...

We stayed at The Yellow and it was great! The first day we took the All Over Tour of Rome with Marco and he did a great job explaining everything and answering our questions. I would highly recommend it.

I had a great time here. They offer lots of tours at affordable prices, which is a nice way to get to know the city and make some friends! Marco is a great guide! The location is great. You can pretty much walk to most attractions and it's close to Termini Station and Castro Pretorio. My room was nice and...

Stayed for two nights in late November. Good location, close to Termini station and multiple metro stops, walking distance to the main tourist sites, Coloseum, Pantheon, etc. Did two walking tours with Francesco, who was a great, well-informed guide. It's worth doing both the afternoon and nighttime tours if you're a first-timer. Great prices and charismatic staff at the adjacent...

Lots of fun. Tons of cheap drinks and easy-going people. In a very central location, and easily walkable to the train station. Showers weren't particularly warm however! If you stay there, they give you 20% off on drinks. Metro lines will take you to major attractions like the Colosseum and Roman Forum.

My friend and I stayed at The Yellow in mid December in a private twin room. The room itself was not in the main building but was across the road from reception. It offered two single beds, a desk with chairs, a safe and an ensuite bathroom. The building with our room in it also had a lift which was...

I really liked this hostel, they have 2 buildings, one more modern than the other, in front of each other. The staff is very nice and the treat you so nice and join you to you room. It has such a great location. Even if it's a party hostel that is great, there's no uncomfortable noise. You can know people...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
