Neighborhood
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

I recently booked one night through Travelocity. I went there to check In accompanied by a friend. The receptionist upon hearing my name immediately says oh yes you are for three nights. I said that is not correct. I showed him my Travelocity booking confirmation. He then said he can't find any reservation under my name and has never heard of Travelocity. We were turned away. Later I called Travelocity to complain and seek refund, hotel told Travelocity they made a mistake and somehow "misplaced" my reservation" which is right on their computer screen. I got a very strong sense the receptionist was trying to pull a con. When rebuffed he tried to retaliate by denying having any reservation at all. Both my friend and I are under impression that the attitude receptionist/manager took on has something to do with who we are. Don't stay here if you want your reservation honored and not discriminated against.

Spent 2 nights in this hotel and it was pretty good!
Strong points:
- You receive the keys and you can come and go as you please;
- Location is within walking distance to a lot of turist attractions;
- The room was nice and clean, cleaned every day - everything in good working condition.
Weak points:
- Internet is creap - super slow and pretty much pointless;
- Breakfast is kindda poor, already in the room for you to put togeter, coffee machine in the lobby.
But overall was good and I would stay there again! Staid in the Pistachio room :)

The accommodation is not any where near as as attractive as it it may appear in the photos on the web
The rooms are small and cramped and decidedly dirty. The shower recess does not appear to have been cleaned ever, the window sill is incredibly laden with dust. The panel to flush the toilet is hanging from the wall at an angle and appears to be broken.Breakfast was a few small packets of some dried cereals. The internet was extremely poor. Never again

The location is perfect! 5 minutes walking from Termini and in 10 minutes or less we are in the centre of Rome.
My room was the blue and the bed is to small for a couple. For 2 kids its fine.
Its really clean and the building is beautiful. The breakfast is bad...theres no enough calories for a adult...
The good thing is downstairs we have Carrefour Express to buy some food.
Free internet? no...the signal is bad, really bad and its not possible to connect properly. Everything really clean and organised.
