Somehow we scored the bridal suite! It had Shakespearan Romeo and Juliet rhymming couplets in large print all over our bedhead wall. The wife didn't understand it but me being a retired English teacher and failed amateur Shakespearan actor did! Wherefore art thou Romeo? etc.

We had a few nights here with some friends the basic hotel expectations are met. The rooms were modern design and comfortable and the bathroom was good condition. The staff were not helpful as much as they normally should be.. Location is terrible.. It was away from everything

Staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay, nothing was too much to ask. The food wasn’t great, was very disappointing and also the price, but breakfast was enjoyable. The room was okay, it is not what you expect considering a 4 star rating. No duvet on the bed, all

Is the pool open and fit for use ??
Pool was open when i was there. People were sunbathing around it and a few were using it. I didnt have close look so cant comment on cleanliness. To be honest i didnt fancy using it because the black tiles used, in keeping with the decor of the hotel, made the pool look uninviting.

How far is the hotel from airport (Ciampino) and is there a bus/ metro link?
Hi, The nearest metro link is either a taxi or the hotel has a minibus every morning but make sure to book it. I flew from fuimicino airport so I cant help with regards to ciampino sorry. If you havent booked the black hotel yet. I would book somewhere nearer the centre as it works out cheaper in the long run and we didnt like the black hotel anyway. Regards Tony.

Where abouts is the train station for Rome when you get dropped by the hotel shuttle bus?
The shuttle bus drops you off at the tube station where you buy a ticket to where you want to go in the centre of Rome ie Spanish Steps Trevi fountain or main train station hope this helps get s taxi back it is cheaper than using the tube then a taxi from tube station to hotel

Does the Black Hotel organise trips into Rome?
No I don't think so. They have a free shuttle bus that takes you to the metro station. Then from there it costs just over a Euro to get into Rome and the train is very quick. About 10-15 mins as I recall. It is very easy and so much cheaper than a taxi. The way back is pretty straightforward too.
