The Hotel Golden of Rome is a small and genuine family run hotel where you will be welcome as family. The hotel is located in one of the best spots of the city, just behind the oasis of the Borghese Gardens (where you can visit the famous Borghese Gallery Museum) walking out of our property, in less than 100 meters you will be on Via Vittorio Veneto from where you can reach in 10 minutes of nice and enjoyable walk the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Campo di Fiori.Very well served with public transport (mini bus like the 116 and 116T, from just around the corner will take you almost every where in Rome) including a very convenient stop right next to the Vatican Square.Bus 53 and 80X directly to the Colosseum.Bus 63 to Trastevere and the Jewish Ghetto.Besides all that, we have two metro stops closeby: Barberini and Spagna. Our location is full of small little restaurants and trattorie (reasonable prices and great food and wine) we will share all that info with our guests upon arrival (places where we go ourselves to eat with the family)in other words, the Hotel Golden of Rome (like the many reviews of our dear guests around the world say) is a family run hotel for families right in the center of Rome!Full air conditioned (and air conditioning that works)free wifi in all the hotel. And the best of the best: our mother's homey breakfast (every morning she makes breakfast for our guests just like she did at home) from omelettes to "frittata", pancakes, cinnamon french toasts, croissants, crostata, ciambellone, ham, cheese, salami, mortadella, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, ricotta, and many other daily recipes that she brings new for our guests to enjoy (like her very very light "tiramisu") you have to try it!Come and visit us.. We will be so happy to meet you!

We were very happy with this reservation! It is in a great location, close enough to the attractions but far enough away for a peaceful sleep. The owner was very gracious and fluent in English. He gave us tips on local restaurants and transportation, always welcoming.
The room was comfortable with the amenities we needed… breakfast is available for those who want that. There is an exceptional coffee shop right next door and a restaurant across the street.
We were thrilled with our choice and highly recommend it!

This hotel is in a great location. They are family owned and proud of it and they do an excellent job of treating their visitors with great respect and treating them like family. Their recommendations are on point 95% of the time. Only the last place we ate at was ok (too many nats and food was ok and service was rushed). I mostly interacted with Giuseppe and Marco and they were excellent. Mom, Dad, and Sisters are just as friendly. The room and bathroom were large, especially by European standards, allowing the 3 of us to move around easily. Rooms are a little bit dated, but still sufficient for our needs as we only used the room to sleep or take a quick break. Could use to replace the older TVs with flat screens and maybe a thicker mattress on the beds. For the price, we paid EUR 726 for 6 nights, and location you can't get a better deal. There are a lot of hotels in the area, but if you want large rooms, friendly service at all times, free wi-fi, and a buffet breakfast included then this is your place. If you are looking for a luxury hotel with 5 star beds and a restaurant, this is not for you, but it is for the majority of the travelers who are looking to have a great stress free trip for a very reasonable price. The family definitely made the trip top notch and this was my 2nd time in Rome. P.S. for US travellers this is a great location as it's only a few blocks away from the US Embassy. You may never need to go there, but it's good to know it's there if you need to.

This is by far the best hotel I have stayed in, it is run by the nicest family and they treat you as if you are one of them. Guisseppe made us a map of the best restaurants and gave us great advice regarding Rome. The rooms are large and the bathrooms have a great walk in shower, breakfast is included and is made right in front of you nice and hot and delicious. The a/c was nice and cold, it was in the eighties when we were there. The hotel is close to the major attractions and the Big Bus stop is just a five minute walk. You will feel very secure, there is a guard posted at the door and when he is not there you will be buzzed in, also it is extremely quiet. Cannot say enough good things about this family hotel, you will not be disappointed.

If you're planning to use your hotel as a crash pad while exploring Rome, it's difficult to beat Hotel Golden. Our room was "micro-tel" style: barely larger than the bed, with a bathroom and a large window...and it was exactly what we needed. The hotel is on a quiet street lined with small restaurants, and it's within a 30 minute walk to most of the big stuff. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I was able to send out an entire 55-liter backpack's worth of dirty clothes for laundering (30 Euros/washed and folded within 24 hours), which was a godsend and which allowed us to spend more time enjoying the city rather than babysitting our clothes in a laundromat for three hours.

We stayed at Hotel Golden as a family group of 6 including a small baby of less than a year old. We had originally booked to visit Rome and stay at the hotel just before Covid but it then had to be postponed twice due to the pandemic.
Giuseppe and the rest of the Hotel Golden family were helpful, supportive and friendly from the first moment we made contact to enquire about rates and availability. As well as accommodating multiple changes of dates and the number of people travelling, they were always responsive and replied very quickly to emails and questions.
At the hotel we had a two bedroom suite on the second floor and a large double room on the first floor. We were all hugely impressed by how much space we had in the rooms. We have all travelled to a fair number of cities and it is very unusual to get such reasonably priced large and spacious rooms in a city centre. The apartment in particular was huge and had so much space for us to make ourselves at home.
Hotel Golden is in a great location. It’s in a relatively quiet area but is only a 15 min walk to sights such as the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, and the Colosseum is about a 30 minute walk, the Vatican about 45 minutes. Very easy to visit all of the sights and Giuseppe also recommended some local restaurants and gelato shops which we all enjoyed.
Giuseppe and the rest of the staff who we met were nothing but accommodating. Travelling with a small baby can be stressful but the staff were happy to boil water for us to sterilise bottles etc whenever we wanted it. They also booked us a minivan to take us back to the airport which made our journey a lot easier and there was always someone available 24/7 to let us back into the hotel as the keys are kept behind reception. The price we paid for our rooms was very reasonable for the space and service we received; the rooms were very clean and the beds were all really comfortable.
We all agreed that we would highly recommend Hotel Golden to anyone travelling to Rome. You really get the friendly, personal family feel from Giuseppe and the team. They know the meaning of outstanding service and go out of their way to provide this.
You will not regret booking to stay at Hotel Golden! Thank you Giuseppe and family for a fantastic few days in beautiful Rome.

We spent 3 nights here in a family suite, which was huge! More like a small apartment (without a kitchen). Very large room with v comfortable king bed and sofa, 2nd very large room with twin beds, perfect for our tween/teen kids. Room was spotless and cleaned each day. The building and rooms had so much character, properly old fashioned cage lift, huge high ceilings, wooden floors etc. Great location, very easy and pleasant walk to Spanish steps, Trevi fountain etc. and even further afield if you like walking (as we did). Guiseppi was so helpful with tips on activities, transport and most important (for me anyway) restaurant recommendations. Lots of really lovely restaurants very close to the hotel but far enough from the tourist areas to be authentic and reasonably priced (with excellent food). If we go back to Rome we will definitely go back to Hotel Golden.

+1
This hotel is a gem. From the moment you arrive, you feel at home. Having traveled through many countries in Europe, few places come close to the warmth and charm at this family run hotel. Every detail from the beautiful holiday decor to the delicious and authentic homemade breakfast, to the large size of the rooms, rarely seen in Europe. The rain shower, comfortable robes and slippers, so much care goes into the details at Hotel Golden. The location is perfect. Close to metro and beautiful Via Veneto. Most of our favorite places are an easy 15-20 minutes walk away. We would recommend to any traveler. There were single travelers, couples and families. We traveled with our adult son. Can’t wait to return to our new extended family in Rome. Special thanks to Papa Mario, Mama Teresa, Marco, Alina, Maria Teresa and Giuseppe! You always went out of your way to anticipate and exceed our needs.More

I will share your greetings with all our family.. it feels so nice to read how homey our place is felt by our guests.. reading from your own words that the Hotel Golden is now considered your new home away from home, makes us proud because that is our goal and that is the reason we always say here at the Hotel Golden it is Rome as Home! thank you for your feedback, we will be so pleased to see you soon here at the Hotel Golden together with all your family.. Mamma Teresa will be more than happy to cook breakfast for you and your family and see you all again.

I stayed for four nights, and for the price, this was great value. The family that own the hotel are all friendly, helpful and generally lovely. I would come back each day and talk to Giuseppe who would always offer advice and chat happily.
The room, bed and bathroom all met my expectations. WiFi was good, and the breakfast selection each morning was wide and tasty. Location was within walking distance of a number of the tourist sites and right next to Villa Borghese. There was a decent range of restaurants within short walking distance and the hotel is close to both bus and metro lines.
Overall, I was very happy with my stay.

Absolute perfection from start to finish. For reference, I was traveling as a single woman with a young teenager from the East coast US. We are avid travelers.
There are A LOT of accomodations in Rome. It took me a long while to narrow down my choices and I'm extremely happy that I booked Hotel Golden. We spent 3 wonderful nights here.
From my first contact with Giuseppe, I knew I made the correct choice. Responses were prompt, detailed, and warm. He arranged our airport transportation when I contacted him less than 2 days before our arrival, and also offered to (and did) arrange our transportation from the hotel to the cruise port. I was happy to finally meet him upon arrival, and he was just as wonderful in person. He provided us with a handwritten map with highlighted scenic routes as well as his own personal favorite restaurants, gelato, etc. His recommendations were spot on and we thoroughly enjoyed every single one!
Our room faced the original Aurelian Wall and Giuseppe was a wealth of knowledge about the history and uniqueness of this beautiful city. Our room was immaculate and comfortable, with extra pillows and a fluffy blanket in the armoire if needed. Mini bar prices were quite reasonable and the selection was nice.
We were within easy walking distance to all of the main areas of Rome. We walked to the Forum, Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Vatican, Trastavere. I was traveling as a single woman with a teenager and we felt safe at all times at this hotel and the surrounding areas. It's a very easy walk (couple minutes) to a beautiful park on the opposite side of the wall, as well.
Three days in Rome is not nearly enough, so we absolutely plan to return and this will absolutely be our accommodation of choice. Anything we needed was provided, and any questions we had were answered. Friendly, genuine, beautiful people here at Hotel Golden. Highly, highly recommend.

We visited Rome and we have stood in Hotel Golden. The hotel is very well located near the center of Rome, having easy access to any objective. The staff is friendly and they helped us to find all locations that we wanted to visit. They gave us a map with all points of interest.
The breakfast is good and early enough to have time reaching objectives in the morning.
We were two families there and we booked the family suite. This was good because we were together in the evenings, deciding what to visit next day,
Hotel Golden is a very good location and we kindly recommend it.

yes, all our rooms have its own private ensuited bathroom.
Terri we discounted our rates in order to offer our guests max flexibility, so they can have the opportunity to booked a very convenient "roomonly" rate (on our website) and then decide here if they want the breakfast (day by day they can decide) or if they prefer to have breakfast on the go (as around our property there are 3 coffee shops just one next to the other)
the breakfast that we serve here at the Hotel Golden is a menu (served at the table) cooked by our mother (sweet & savory breakfast) and it comes with a rate of 20 eur per person.
and again, even if you have booked the discounted roomonly rate, you can decide to book the breakfast afterwards (when you are here with us) you can decide to try it one of the mornings you are staying with us and the other mornings have breakfast in other venus of the city, depending your activities.
other than the full breakfast that our mother cooks (and again, it is served in the breakfast room) you can also order coffee or cappuccino at the reception and it will be sent to your room (and those do not need to be booked, can be order at the moment) while breakfast needs to be booked at the reception the night before, so we can assign you a table and Mom knows how many persons she has for breakfast next morning (we are trying to do something different and more homey)
grazie Joe for your detailed answer to this question.
all my family is available (at any time) to help our guests, we are able to arrange any kind of transportation, hotel to train staions, hotel to airports, hotel to cruise port of Civitavecchia, and obviously pick ups and drop offs, as also we are able to arrange drivers for 3 hours driver inside the city and also daytrips to other cities.
for any kind of transportation needs you might have, just email the hotel and we will quote the service so that you can have all the info to decide.

Diane, in Rome we have 2 major airports:
Fiumicino (FCO) which is at about 29 km from our location.
Ciampino (CIA) about 14 km from our location.
the ride from both airports in a car (depending traffic conditions) take about 30 to 40 minutes.
