In the heart of the papal and aristocratic Rome, the D.O.M is a brand new luxury hotel, set in a 17th Century aristocratic palace. Its position in Via Giulia, one of the most iconic streets of the city centre, is very convenient between Piazza Navona, Piazza Farnese, Trastevere e San Pietro. The hotel D.O.M is the perfect pick for those who want to savour the architectural beauty and the artistic treasures of the rive droite of Rome, far from the mainstream tourist routes. The hotel emanates the atmosphere of an aristocratic household, a unique combination of sacredness and luxury: the ambience is enriched by numerous design pieces and works of art. In the elegant restaurant the original Andy Wharol "Ladies and Gentleman" serigraphs will surely catch the eye of the guests. The cocktail bar, cosy and small, reminds the old American speakeasy bars. The 18 rooms and suites - all overlooking Via Giulia - offer absolute comfort: they combine contemporary touches, among which design vases and pictures and paintings by various artists, with authentic period details, such as white wood coffered ceilings and decorative brick walls. Some have a living room area, mirror TVs, cashmere and silk carpets. The hotel's spectacular roof terrace, which smells of rosemary and lemon, recalls the Dolce Vita times: guest will be able to enjoy an aperitif or to read one of the hotel's library books in perfect relax admiring the roofs and the churches in the Regola borough, facing the green hill of Gianicolo and overlooking the ancient Roman archaeological site of 'Stabula Augusti'.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 day during a recent trip to Italy. The hotel was nice. No complaints about the room. We had a family room, which worked well for our family of 4. Our view though...less good. I didn't much care for the armed military who station themselves outside to guard the building across the street. Not view you want. It definitely freaked out me out when I drove up to drop off our bags and men with machine guns approached my car when dropping me off. More disappointing was the breakfast. IT could be because we had been to 4 other hotels before this, but their included breakfast offerings were there the worst. It was pretty basic unless you wanted to pay for more.

Fourth time staying here and still loving it. Very well designed rooms, very comfortable, the history of the building blows my mind. Comfortable, convenient and the best staff. Can't say enough good things about this property and we will definitely go back. Did I mention location is the best? Thanks DOM hotel

You know how most hotels will meet you with "It's noted on the reservation" when you have a meaningful request? Well, the D.O.M. hotel skipped that step and went straight to request honored... even when our requests were not easy. For example, our flight landed at 7AM and we were mentally prepared to endure a grueling wait until our room was ready at the usual 3PM check-in time. We arrived at the hotel just after 8AM and met Giuseppe at the front desk. With a smile, he told us we only had to wait 10 minutes. Our children arrived the next morning and were also able to access their room immediately to sleep. Not only that, I asked if we could be placed on the same floor as our teenage kids and the hotel immediately moved some things around and put us in the room next door which made the stay much more convenient. Meanwhile, the rooms are as "sexy" and stylish as they appear in the photos, filled with interesting spaces and wonderful large bathrooms. (we had the junior suite and our kids a standard room and both exceeded expectations). Yes, be prepared to do your makeup in very dim light... but at my age, it was a blessing not to see my jet-lagged face so well! On the serious side, the rooms were extraordinarily beautiful, and quiet, and the air-conditioning worked incredibly well even in a heat wave! As first-time visitors, we were also very happy to find ourselves in a convenient and charming part of the city, surrounded by cobblestone streets and upscale independent shops.

The hotel is absolutely amazing. Service was fantastic, rooms were very comfortable, modern, spacious and clean. It is in a great location with an easy walk to all of the area sites! The rooftop restaurant was superb for dinner one evening and the food and service was top class. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in a lovely area of Rome. It was also close to some excellent bars and restaurants. The breakfast was really nice too and a great start to the day!

Everyone at the hotel was super friendly and helpful - they were great. And it's in a great location - close to lots of small, local restaurants, as well as many of the typical tourist attractions. We walked to most of the sites from the hotel. Rooms were really well done - spacious, clean, nicely put together - you definitely felt like you were in an old historic building, but with all the modern amenities. And breakfast was excellent too. Would definitely stay here again if back in Rome

The DOM staff were excellent, especially when our flight home was cancelled, sorting us out a room for an extra night and airport transfer. The location is ideal with a short walk to the major sights and the bars and restaurants of Trastervere, located on the other side of the river. Would recommend to anyone who prefer a boutique independent hotel over a large chain hotel.

This hotel was great! The staff were friendly and helpful. It’s very updated inside in the rooms and bathrooms with air conditioning. We didn’t do the breakfast but on our way to the airport we grabbed a croissant and cappuccino at their cafe downstairs and it was excellent. This is a quick 5-10 minute walk from campo di fiore, close to the Vatican, castel d'angelo, and other amazing landmarks and history. It’s across the street from a government building so there are guards outside which actually made it feel fairly safe. You can catch a taxi out in the main road (2 min walk) really easily. It’s a 15 min taxi ride from termini so you can easily get to Florence, Milan, or Naples. We did a day trip to Florence and it was lovely. The rooftop bar/restaurant had a great ambiance but we didn’t eat there because there weren’t many menu options and there are so many incredible restaurants near bar. Right around the corner is a Michelin star restaurant. I highly recommend this hotel to any couples looking to do get a lot done in rome and stay in a comfortable, quiet hotel.

We had a great stay at the D.O.M. Hotel! Arriving at the hotel, the location was a bit concerning due to the armed military offers across the street (Anti Terrorist Office). However, great walking distance to great local spots. Definitely felt like living in the local part of Rome, rather than the hustle and bustle of a busy street or commercial area. Overall, the staff was very friendly. Especially the restaurant manager in charge of the breakfast which was great. I wished the roof top bar was open. That would have made the experience a bit better.

Location is excellent, walking distance or a very short taxi from pretty much all you want to see in Rome. Hotel is exactly as expected from Pictures very well designed rooms we had a double room and although we booked direct and it promotes a free upgrade for booking direct we did not get offered this, so a little disappointed but not a major issue at all because our room was very nice. Great shower water was perfectly hot despite what some other reviews have said. Rooms were quite warm even for January and our air conditioning did not work. We did not mention to staff because we were happy to just open a window. I am sure they would have been happy to move us but it did not bother us that much. We did not have dinner here and the rooftop terrace was closed for winter which was a little disappointing. The breakfast was excellent, we went for a mix of sweet and salty and it did not dissappoint. Staff were excellent from start to finish, very friendly always say hello in passing and will help with any questions. Overall we had a great stay here and would certainly return when we visit Italy again.
