Rome is a strange city. Very few people who like travel have not been here, but even fewer have been twice (after all - the sites haven't changed much in 500 years they probably won't change a lot next year either). The city therefore has developed it's tourism business more with a view to extracting the maximum number of euros from each visitor than with a view to incentivising the visitor to come back. This hotel was right out of that mould. Consider this - the basement has been renovated into a spa and pool. Rather than make this available to hotel guests in the hope that they might enjoy their stay and return, the hotel has opted to make a series of micro spas, available for anyone to rent for EUR100 or so per hour. The rooms were comfortable although fairly unremarkable. Breakfast was not very good, but this is more of an Italy problem than one unique to this hotel. The food we had from the hotel bistro was excellent. Staff were also uniformly excellent. And finally the location was excellent. All in all a very Roman experience.

Dear Janet, We thank you for your stay and for your feedback. We are a bit puzzled about the score you gave us: we read excellent comments about most hotel aspects and then we got a 3 out of 5. Probably the considerations you made on the city itself had influenced your final score. Anyway, the wellness sector is constantly evolving in the hotellerie. We therefore focus a lot on giving customers the maximum level of relaxation and that's why we opted for private Spas at our customer disposal 24 hours, night and day. We hope to welcome you again in Rome, Planning a city break in this wonderful city is always a good idea! Kind Regards, The Staff

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel and recommend it highly. The staff was friendly and very helpful. At check in, they told us (in English since we are Americans) a lot about the hotel and area. The room had air conditioning. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Bathroom was nice. Hotel is on tram and bus routes. Trastevere is a nice neighborhood not overwhelmed by tourists. We enjoyed coffee and breakfast at local cafes only a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. The tourist areas are a 30-40 minute walk over the Tiber. We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and recommend it. The only thing for others to consider is that the shower was a little tight. A larger person might find that uncomfortable.

We needed a room for three adults or two rooms. The ad said they had a room with three beds. But it had a double bed, a cot and a couch that unfolded. The room was way too small for three people. We had asked that the room be ready by 11 since we knew we would be there by 9 am after an 8 hour flight and it wasn't ready until 1:30. It has a very nice roof deck bar. The staff was nice enough but did not provide us with any information. WE asked about buses and trains and they were not terribly helpful. It was also located about a 25 min walk from streets with activities we liked. If I did it again I would go somewhere closer.... and 2 rooms at a less expensive hotel.

Dear Mr. Dale, We are sorry we had disappointed you. Check in starts at 2 p.m. - nobody guaranteed an early check in at 9 a.m. during high season in Rome. We always take note of our clients' arrival time and we do all we can to please them, but it's not always possible. Consider that Check out is within 11 a.m. ! Anyway, you had access to the room at noon, so 2 hours before expected. During the waiting, the Staff collected your luggage, let you use the rest room and let you accommodate in the lobby with all comforts. But let's focus on the room you decided to book: you were exactly assigned with the room you chose to book, that is a Family Superior of 26 sm with two separate areas. If you thought that it was too small, there were available the Suite Deluxe or the Family Suite, made of two or three adjoining rooms. It's up to our customer choosing the best accommodation according to anyone's needs. They were available at the moment you made the booking, unfortunately not when you checked in since they are very requested by travelers that need more space. We hope you'll find the best accommodation once you go back to Rome. Regards

I really like the rood bar and restaurant the breakfast and the common areas of this hotel. The one thing that really needs to be fixed is that there is no coffee in the room - only a tea kettle. Everything in Trastevre is in walking distance which is nice and the staff was helpful.

This hotel is simply average. It can't possibly be in the top 40 hotels in Rome. It is not sparkling clean. The service is quite average. The location is away from the tourist area and about a ten minute walk to trastavere restaurants but the area is quite unattractive. We stayed for four nights in two different rooms, neither of which was above average in any way. We traveled five weeks through Europe and Italy and this was the one hotel that simply did not deserve the rating.

Dear Mr Kenny, We accept all comments, either positive or negative, since everyone is free to give his opinion, however we think we don’t deserve to be classified as a “Average” hotel. “Average” hotels don’t usually have a panoramic roof garden with a wonderful view over the city with bar and restaurant service available till late at night; “Average” hotels don’t usually have 3 thematic Spas available night and day for private use only, with pools, sauna, Turkish bath etc and a Massage center. “Average” hotels don’t usually have 60 mq Gym equipped with cutting-edge Technogym machinery; But let’s talk about the rooms! “Average” hotels don’t usually have hardwood floor, independent Air conditioning, memory foam mattress, bathrooms in precious marble. Last but not least, using just “average” to define our qualified staff it’s too reducing! Probably you haven’t experienced none of the services that most times make the difference in our customer’s stay. We hope to welcome you again to let you change your mind. Regards, The Staff Manager

My family and I had the most wonderful experience at Trilussa Hotel Palace and Spa at the beginning of August. The staff were warm, professional, and very accommodating. Valeria and Alessandro at the front desk were professional, provided assistance, suggestions and direction and were so very helpful. I communicated via email primarily with Valeria from the time that I first reached out to the hotel regarding reservations. She and other staff who sent replies was very responsive, sending replies with a quick turn around. Everything that was quoted remained the same, there were no surprises. Silvia and Gabriel (I’m sorry it may be Daniel) in the breakfast room were always bright and friendly. Silvia went above and beyond to assist us and served with a cheerful smile every single morning! Fabiana is a most excellent massage therapist! Her time and attention proved for a rejuvenating experience in the tranquil spa facility. Our room accommodations were super comfortable, spacious enough (family room with one queen bed and two twin beds), clean and the room and bathroom were well appointed. The only thing I would say is that our room could have used some fresh paint as the walls were scuffed in visible areas. We rented one of the spa pool rooms which was super fun! I wish there was a bit more time for the amount paid. We also made reservations and had dinner at the rooftop restaurant which had spectacular views. The hotel was close to most major historic sites in Rome, not more than a 15 minute cab ride in most cases. Overall, our experience at the Trilussa was most excellent. I recommend this hotel to families and all! This was our first trip to Europe/Rome and whenever I have an opportunity to travel back to Rome, I will definitely stay at the Trilussa.

I loved staying at Trilussa Palace Hotel! The location was great, a short walk to the bustling restaurant area in Trastevere, and public transport was available nearby, but we just walked everywhere. The room was super nice, clean and the beds were very comfy. Staff were so nice to us, very polite and helpful. Not cheap, but not expensive, it was fine but so worth it! They have a gym, spa and a rooftop, we didn’t try any of them, but they are supposedly very good! Bathroom was small but clean. Overall, a very pleasant stay!

We had a lovely two night stay at the Trilussa Palace last month. We loved the location just a 10 minute walk from the train station or you can hop on the number 8 bus (tram not running at the moment) which drops you right outside the hotel. You can also take the bus to Trastevere or over the river into Rome. Even in the heat we enjoyed the 15 minute walk to Trastevere. The staff are brilliant especially the lady on the front desk when we arrived who was so informative about both the hotel and the area. Our room was spotless and we enjoyed the balcony overlooking the front of the hotel especially Sunday morning with the street market. We look forward to returning in the not too distant future.
