The hotel is not in a very safe neighbourhood. The streets are full of trash, as the main train station attracts groups of people who do not really care about it. There are cars with smashed windows parked near by, and one particular has not moved in 3 days. The hotel itself was clean. Breakfast decent, with real espresso on...

Where to start? I didn't feel safe walking to the hotel late at night on the first night as the area felt dodgy and had to pay city tax straight off for a three star hotel, but it does not have three star facilities. It is more like a one star. Wifi was 10 euros. The room was right next...

We stayed at Center 3 for 4 days.. The hotel is very well located, the room was clean and spacious. We har a mini frige, air conditioner, TV and permanent Wi Fi.. The cleaning lady came every day to make our beds and to change the towels. Also the reception guy was very polite and always in our help. We...

Stayed here for 5 nights.Hotel is basic but clean and friendly.Great location to get buses and trams.Very good local restaurants just around the corner.Rooms are noisy, due to traffic but with windows closed and air con on,not to bad.Typical continental brekki, very fresh. The area looks run down but it's very safe to walk around day and night.Reception staff very helpful.Well worth what...

If you are looking for a centrally placed hotel at a reasonable price thus is the place. A 10 min walk to the main termini . There are plenty of restaurants within a 5 min walk. The hotel itself is very basic but functional. The rooms are clean with all the essentials tv hairdryer shower good size beds. They serve...

I booked the room with booking. The photos were complete fabrications because the room was scary dirty, broken toilet, broken bed, dirty to the point were I don't think it is cleaned from guest to guest. The concierge takes city tax before you see the room. The room has a big window that at nights someone sits there drinking and...

Just visited for 2 nights with 3 friends. Stayed in a family room with 4 single beds. The hotel is definitely a no frills hotel but you get what you pay for. We only needed somewhere to sleep as we visited the sights of Rome all day untill late in the evening. The area is out of the main attraction...

This hotel was sold to us as part of a 3 day city break package from a well known high street company. I have to say we were a little disappointed with it. . We do feel as though it was a bit miss-sold & will voice our concerns to the package seller. I cannot fault the hotel staff as...

Me and my boyfriend booked a very cheap city break to Rome, we stayed here. After reading the bad reviews I thought it'd be awful, but it was fine. Really good for the price, considering you are staying in Rome's city centre. There are no coffee/tea making facilities in the room, but there is a tv, shower/toilet with plenty of...

The windows and doors are absolutely not insulated, so it is very very noisy. At night you can not sleep without earplugs! It's cold in the rooms, an air conditioner heats the room and you should ask the receptionist to turn it on!!! The breakfast is the same every day. 1 type of ham, cheese, white bread and bakery products....

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
