We stayed for 4 nights, I would recommend looking elsewhere for stays longer than 2 nights. Wifi didn't work, included breakfast is all cooked early so it's cold if you don't get down until about 9:00. AC was broken! We also had a mosquito problem in the room... not fun! If you do stay here and don't speak Italian, download... More

Ok, so this isn't your next 5 star hotel. Let's be clear: this is a 2-star hotel and it doesn't claim to be any higher. Having said that I really do think that this hotel does quite good. Yes, it isn't new. On the contrary you'll find a quite old hotel. It is worn and not modern in its design,... More

With a very good position near the Colyseum, antic monuments, and the main metro line as well accessible in a few minutes, this a perfect hotel for a long week-end. This is a familial hotel, the holders are lovely. The rooms are clean, and the price very interesting regarding the service quality. We have been very satisfied of this stay... More

My husband and I have been in this hotel for 3 nights. This is a very modest hotel as it has no luxury but has the necessary for 3 nights for someone that want a bed and breakfast. It is an hotel that is quite old.. but very nice and clean...and quite! The owners which are a couple, are both... More

We arrived here only to find ourselves in the tiniest room and even tinier bathroom possible in the most basic condition. The host did not speak English. The room was badly lit with no plugs for charging. The shower was so small that if we were to stay, we wouldn't have been able to use it other than for washing... More

Dear Customer, thank you for your review because i can take the opportunity to inform again our precious guest that is true that our rooms and bathrooms are not big but is also true that they are clean and are equipped with enough plugs to use for charging. Also all our rooms can be locked. I am very surprised to... More

Hotel is 7 min to walk to metro station, and also not far from termini, which allows easy to get to any point in city. The owners don't speak English, just a few words. The breakfast was ok, nothing special, coffee/tea and some sausage and cheese with bread. The room was so so. Clean, quite old, but in ok state..... More

The location of the hotel is close to the essential attractions of Roma (incl. Colloseum, Via Emperors, Lateran, etc). The hotel is close to subway station and railway (approx. 10 min walk). There are a lot of hotels around, but the surrounding area is dirty (as almost every place in Roma), and not attractive.

We used trip adviser to book this hotel & found our opinion to be the same as many others: Great location & affordable! The hosts were absolutely lovely, although they only spoke Italian, very welcoming! Breakfast each day was ample & the 1 day we wanted to leave early we were given drinks & snacks to take with us! Location... More

Very basic hotel near the train station. Friendly people (speak only Italian), limited breakfast, clean but small rooms with air-conditioning. Considering the price all was OK but we didn't expect much. Neighbourhood was substandard (lots of garbage) but supermarket nearby. Approx 30min walk from the Colloseum.

This family run hotel can't be beaten on price, friendliness, cleanliness, security and proximity to all the sights. We have stayed here twice now with our children. Rooms are basic with a TV and small bathroom. Comfortable beds and quiet rooms at the back, overlooking the internal courtyard. Our home away from home, Grazie Lucia e Carlo. Alla prossima. Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
