Neighborhood
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

We had a pleasant stay in here. Walking distance from most of the tourist attractions, Breakfast was nice and room cleaned every day. It is an old building with no lifts though. For a two star hotel it was very good.

Simliar to another 'hotel' nearby in that this is a series of rooms with little to no security or facilities manifesting itself as a hotel. We arrived late at night and paid in full, however, the receptionist didn't have any change at the time. He promised to give us this the

I stayed in this Hotel Mari for a total of 2 nights. Overall the place was clean. But The staff had limited English and everything was chargeable. Wifi was €2 for 24hrs, €10 for A/C and €3 to leave your baggage there for the day once you had checked out. I was put into a room

Peccato.

1. Only one of the receptionists speaks English. 2. Really bad breakfast. 3. We had a very bad experience in the middle of the night: The receptionist did not give us our key when we came back to the Hotel. He said that we had not paid and wanted us to pay twice for the last

Don't ever stay here! Terrible staff with poor or none knowledge of english at all. The receptionist one night refused to give us our key, claiming we hadn't payed for our room (which was totally false) he then threatened to call the police when we argued against. Finally when

"Don't check in.."
"Very tall rooms, so pay more for a lower floor, if walking up four flights (8 with the bends) at the end of a day's sightseeing is a big problem for you."
"I Room 202, it is open to the Yard, not the street so it is much more quiet ;-)"
"Choose the rooms with double or triple bed and on a superior floor."
"Choose lower floor rooms and the one facing the road."
