I stayed at the Hotel Azzurra in May 2010. We had 2 nights in Rome on our way back to the states. Really our trip was an extended layover and a chance to look around the magnificent city. Knowing that this hotel served its purpose. The area Simply could not be better. We were 2 blocks from the Barbarini Metro...

Hotel Azzura - Rome First I want to say that prior to my trip to Rome, I did read all of the feedback on www.venere.com & TripAdvisor about this hotel. Some of the comments read: cranky old man who would take 30 minutes or more to answer the door after midnight; owner would walk around in his underwear; shower too...

Anyone who takes the time to research this hotel in advance knows what they are getting: an inexpensive room in a prime location. Therefore, the bad reviews are not justified. I had the largest hotel room I have ever had in Europe. The shower was ensuite, there was also a television and large window. The hotel is worn, but everything...

Staying in Trevi

Neighborhood Profile
Trevi
A non-stop photo and souvenir opportunity, Trevi is all about action. From early morning through the wee hours, the piazza surrounding Trevi Fountain hosts a never-ending flow of tourists hoping to make a wish or take a selfie. Clever restaurants, charming gelaterias, uncanny bars, kitsch shops, and a range of hotels make up the local landscape. Beneath the bustle are the remains of an ancient neighborhood that you can visit by heading over to a repertoire cinema and asking for a peek underground. There is something for everyone, but if peace and quiet are what you seek, plan to visit in the early morning hours.
