From the moment you enter this establishment you notice the saggy covered couches and dingy appearance. Up we go to the 3rd floor. Get off the elevator and the hallway is dark and crowded with broken and disused furniture. Enter our Family suite and lawwddy!!! One Double bed and three pull out/folded beds are STUFFED in a 10x10 area. The... More

We are a family of 2 adults and 3 children and booked this accommodation based on the price. I was a bit worried as I had read other reviews after I made the booking but actually our stay was very pleasant. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was big (2 double beds and one single) with a... More

I booked it without looking at any reviews. I was tired and just clicked book on hotels.com, I regret that decision. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Seriously. It is the worst hotel my husband has ever stayed in. On day two I saw a sock on the floor under the desk, I picked it up... More

I have just read the review by Samuel D and my experience is the same. My room was robbed as was the room of another female travelling solo, we discovered this when we were reporting the theft to the police. We were staying on different floors of the hotel but we were the only ones targeted that night. The maid... More

Good location is the only good point here. Terrible quality of the room and We have to pay extra 100 euro. We booked a quad room for 4 ppl, however, due to agoda's error, the voucher appeared as 2ppl only but still the same amount of money (158 eur). As soon as we arrived, we explained the issue and the... More

The maid stole our money from the rooms safe which she also had a key to. Having been advised many by friends, locals and even the train ticket machine to be aware of pickpockets in Rome, my girlfriend and I thought it be wise not to carry all of our cash on us during our day trips to popular tourist spots.... This is near Termini so close to the train and metro lines and also the bus station. It is walking distance to many places of interest but a few like the Vatican are a few stops on the metro. Hotel is clean and staff helpful. Breakfast was fine but I would have liked more choices but this wasn't a deal... More

When I arrived the attendant was having a conversation with a friend and did not even acknowledge me for about 5 minutes. After finally checking in, getting my key and finding my room (amongst broken furniture and bags of laundry), I found out why I was required to pay for my room at the front desk on checkin instead of... After reading the reviews, I had reservations. However, the hotel was clean although tired in decor. Clean sheets and towels were obvious. The bathroom was clean and functional with a good shower. The TV was all in Italian but I was not there to watch it. Breakfast is a typical European fare of croissants rolls and pastries.... The hotel is... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
