We stayed at Nicolas Inn 3 years ago and absolutely loved it. The location being around the corner from the Colosseum and only a 15 minute walk from the train station made it perfect for us. It was our favorite place that we stayed on that trip. So when we returned to Rome this year we knew we wanted to... More

The Nicolas Inn is a powerhouse of efficiency, cleanliness, and friendliness. Our room (1 of 4) was by no means flashy...a queen bed with spare blankets you'd find in your closet at home, a bathroom that includes a bidet, toilet, and a simple shower and corner sink, and furniture that is just eh. There were even a couple loose tiles... More

Loretto met us and insisted on carrying our bags up to the second floor hotel (and down again at the end). He was very welcoming and took us on a tour of the neighbourhood to see where we would have breakfast, but also some good restaurant options in the nearby streets. He was available when we had questions and arranged... More

Nothing fancy but neat clean room with excellent service from Loreto! This is a four-room hotel on Via Cavour only a block from the Coliseum and many more of the famous sites in Rome. You also have access to more restaurants, cafes, and gelato shops than you can count. If you want to be in the center of activity you... More

We have stayed four times at the Nicolas Inn and each time we just enjoy the staff and the location. The location is within a block of the Forum and Colosseum so sightseeing is not an issue. You can also walk to the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. To go to the Vatican you will need to take... More

Rick Steves recommends Nicolas Inn and after staying here we agree 100%. We exchanged a lot of e-mails before our check-in. Loreto and Francois helped us maximize our time in Rome and found a tour company for us. Like others have mentioned, we got a short tour of the neighborhood when we arrived. It’s located in a part of town... More

This was our first time in Rome and we had an amazing time. Nicholas Inn is in the best location we could choose for us. We got the Leonardo Express train from the airport to Termini (definitely worth getting) and then walked from the Termini down the length of Via Cavour to Nicholas Inn. We could have got the metro,... More

Nicolas Inn has it all. It's in a great location - only 10 minute walk form the train station and 5 minute walk to the Roman Forum & Coliseum. It's got a very comfy vibe with cute decorations and very clean. Loretto checked us like we were loyalty. He sat us down, gave us a map of the city and... More

This place is super convenient to walk to places like the Roman Forum and Coliseum. We liked our room and big bathroom - and especially the many electrical outlets that the rest of the hotels seem to lack. Although it is a bed and breakfast they don't give you breakfast at the B&B, you get a voucher for a restaurant... More

My husband and I spent one week at Nicolas Inn. I was initially cautious about the room because it overlooked a busy street but the thick windows blocked out the noise. We slept very well. Loretto was a doll. He showed us around the neighborhood, gave us tips and held on to our luggage after we checked out. Thank you... More

Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt.
