The room is small but adequate for a 3 night visit where we only slept there. Location is terrific. 2 blocks from Termini for rail and metro. Breakfast spread is continental style but plentiful and breakfasts are pricey in Rome to eat out. The staff is pleasant and helpful. We would stay there again in similar situation. There is a... We liked our small room when we walked in from the ancient 3 person (max) lift. Bed was low and firm. There was a problem with the shower, only one of the fixtures worked. We used the wand rather hassle with getting plumber or moving rooms. Location was handy with a few open late restaurants near. Continental breakfast was biggest... More

Most of the hotels in Rome don't have outstanding exterior (this hotel exterior so inferior that i almost can't find it on my back after dinner). However this hotel impressed me with it cleanliness and efficiency. The bathroom a bit small even for Asian like me (however it was meticulously clean). The room size also a bit small but you... The greatest point for this hotel is its proximity to Rome's Termini central rail station. So, whether you come from the airport with the express train or take the train to another destination in Italy, it remains at a five minute's walking distance. Some more, this area is very lively and offers many bars and restaurants open till late. The... More

The Gnomes stayed in room 510 on September 7th for 1 night. This charming property is about 3 minutes walk from Roma Termini main station and is ideally placed if you are on a short visit. It has a wonderful central old fashioned cage lift with the very grand staircase winding around it. Our room was spotless and very comfortable.... More

We stayed in a charming, old hotel in Rome that was centrally located to many of the famous sites. It included a very delicious continental breakfast with yogurt, pastries, fruit, tea, coffee. The room was very small but had everything we needed. We were there for 3 days and never felt like we didn't have enough room. The people at... More

The rooms here are very comfortable and clean. We arrived a little early and they made sure to get a room ready for us. The staff is very kind and helpful. The location is perfect! It is so close to a bunch of great restaurants and a very short walk to Termini station so you can hop on the train... More

This spot is nothing fancy, but certainly fits the bill for convenience & hospitality. Only 3.5 blocks from the main train station & Metro, you can get anywhere from here. There are nice restaurants nearby. The staff was very friendly, funny & helpful. The elevator is small-only fits 3 people-otherwise, there are stairs to go up. Our room was on... More

This hotel is a three stars hotel , quite confortable, situated very close the Termini station and Santa Maria Maggiore Cathedral in Rome, in a lively street, full of hotels and terraces . We went everywhere on foot - about 30 minutes to Spanish steps and the famous Fontana Trevi and less time to Collosseum . The room was pretty... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
