It has its good points and its buts...Despite being a 3-star hotel in Spain, it wouldn't pass as a hostel. The rooms are small and with old decoration, it has a small refrigerator and a very complete bathroom. They change the towels daily and the bed and pillows are very comfortable. Close to Termini station. and metro. Walking you can quickly reach the Colosseum and the center. The breakfast included with very delicious sweets but it is true that a toaster would not go amiss. and very attentive staff. The environment is a bit degraded but if you don't go out late at night you can walk around in peace. Since October 2023, in Rome, they have raised the tourist tax to 6 euros per person in 3-star ghotels, and you can not only pay in cash by decree of the city council.

Small characteristic hotel located a short distance from Termini station in an area full of shops, bars and above all typical restaurants. On the ground floor, small hall with reception, luggage storage (very useful) and waiting room with toilet. Housed on the 5th floor, room no. 534, access with magnetic key, reachable via a characteristic lift. Room not very large, clean and fully equipped, narrow but functional bathroom, for xxl sizes the shower compartment is not very spacious, however I still managed to wash myself without problems. Breakfast room on the 2nd floor with a good sweet and savory buffet. Courteous and professional staff. Fully satisfied.

The location close to the station is enviable as the helpfulness and kindness of the people at reception. It is spread over several floors with a wrought iron elevator of one time. Room with retro decor but functional and in excellent condition. Cleanliness and breakfast very pleasant.

We booked this hotel through Booking.com and paid in full through the website
The hotel is in a fantastic location, 3 minute walk from the Termani station, 20 minute walk to the Colosseum and plenty of shops and restaurants on the doorstep
Our check in was smooth, although we arrived early we left our case and bags at the hotel in a secure room
We were on the third floor. Room was small but comfortable. A good shower, a safe, and a big wardrobe.
Breakfast is pretty basic, but fine
We found all the staff to be friendly and courteous
Check out was smooth, you have to pay city tax 4€ per person per night and for some reason the hotel only accepted cash, luckily there was an ATM just outside
The only thing that stopped us from giving this hotel 5 out of 5 was the cleaning of the bathroom wasnt great throughout our stay, lots of hair (and we know it wasnt ours as we both have short hair!) and dust behind the bathroom door and round the edges of the shower and the toilet, a thorough floor clean on a daily basis would set this right
Overall a pleasant stay and definitely would recommend

I have cancelled the reservation: 4937599710 as requested by the hotel, as our flight was cancelled due to torrential rains by DANA. I thought I was deluded that this would make it easier for the hotel to have our room so we could return at least part of the 279 euros we paid. When I canceled like that I was asked to stay at the hotel....everyone shut up!! Nobody says anything. It is unfair that due to inclement weather issues some continue to do business. Canceled room so the hotel can rent it to others, that if you keep all my money.

I didn't have a good experience with the hotel. I booked through their website and had 200 euros withheld and I couldn’t use it to pay for the hotel.
They won't release the money until you've paid the daily fees. There's no use counting on that money. You also had a charge of 24 euros for extra fees that you must pay money so that you do not have tax collection.
The elevator is old and can only two people at a time, the room was very old and when opening the window to circulate air, there was a lot of street noise.
The breakfast had varieties, but some items seemed to be old and had no way to eat. Really not worth the price that is paid, the only advantage is the location.

The hotel has not refunded me the deposit of the first night despite timely cancellation of the booking. This despite several emails and phone calls. They count exactly on the fact that no one will come over personally, the effort for a debt collection is too great and so they can retain the money - cheek, never again will I book in this hotel again!

The hotel is located on the third floor of a building and there is at least another hotel and a B&B! It's close to the train station and the buses that go to the airports! Relatively clean and quiet I would say if you are interested! The room looked out on the road but I did not encounter any problems due to traffic! There was a problem due to air conditioning, but it was corrected immediately by the reception...everything is checked from there and in other hotels! Breakfast was good with sauces, boiled eggs, yogurt and lots of sweets! I'd prefer it again if I stay near the station! Finally the area is safe!

The room is very noisy as it opens out to a small courtyard with ventilation system, this system buzzes loudly through the window day and night. The mattress is bad because I could clearly feel the springs of the mattress all over my body, even though I had a blanket under it. The air conditioning is also very loud. When I arrived late in the evening I could not close the window, a staff member glued it shut with plastic tape. A socket on the sink had been ripped out.

Save yourself from a terrible stay and DO NOT BOOK this hotel.
The location is ok close to the train station, rooms are extremely outdated. Shower was dirty and had leftovers of previous guest shampoo and soap packets. I took a photo and showed it to Marco the front desk man downstairs and ask him if someone could come and clean it or if he had another room, his answer was "but is the rest of the bathroom clean? Maybe tomorrow I can send someone (we were checking out the next morning) there's nothing I can do now.

He couldn't care less, even after I told him I couldn't shower like that, that the lack of cleaning was not ok and was not acceptable, he didn't even apologize.. in all my years working in hospitality I've never seen anyone so careless, rude and unserviceable.

Does Hotel Sarena have air conditioning in the rooms?
Answer from sunshyn468
Fresno, California375 contributions100 helpful votes
They have heat and air conditioning in most rooms. Rooms are supposed to work with key cards that turn on lights and temperature controls. However, the key card system was broken in my room. Front desk told me they are broken in many of the rooms and it is too expensive to repair them. So beware and insist on a room where the key card works.
