Casa Di Accoglienza Tabor is just west of the Vatican, 20 minutes walk to Vatican Museum or St Peters. The sisters are all welcoming and helpful, and speak very good English. The room is comfortable and **CLEAN**. If you don't need the luxury of a high-priced hotel, this is a great alternative.

The convent (with de rigueur well-tended garden) offers high-ceilinged clean rooms with a view of St. Peter's basilica or the chapel, and Sister Lara's delicious buffet breakfast. Jessica cheerfully provides all needed information to help one feel at home in the Eternal City. If desired, one can start the day by attending the 7 a.m. mass with the Sisters; the...

We enjoyed our time at this convent. My husband and I traveled to Rome on our honeymoon and appreciated the quiet solitude. Rooms are very simple, perhaps a bit on the small side, but immaculately clean. The sisters were willing to put breakfast out for us early each morning and we came home to a clean room each night. It...

My wife and I stayed at La Casa di Accoglienza Tabor on our recent vacation. It was truly a wonderful stay to complement our time in Rome! The grounds and rooms are very nice and well kept. Each morning started with morning prayers at 6:30 am followed by Mass at 7:00 am in the beautiful chapel on the grounds. A...

We stayed for four nights in the convent, which has beautiful gardens, a modern and super clean room, and a delicious breakfast. Jessica and all of the sisters were very kind and accomodating. We were given tickets for the audience with the Pope, directions and bus information, and generally made to feel welcome. The atmosphere is quiet and contemplative, ideal...

I arrived on a cold and wet morning totally exhausted after a long flight. I was shown to my room which was impeccably, clean and cosy. Once I looked out of my window and saw St Peters my exhaustion left me and I headed off down the hill. The convent is well situated if you are wanting to spend time at...

This lovely old monastery is the best lodging in Rome, immaculately clean, very simple, and most of all, extremely peaceful and quiet after the hustle and bustle of Rome sightseeing. It is a large yellow austere looking building sitting on a hill within walking distance of The Vatican. Security is tight and you gain entry each time through a locked...

After an overnight flight, six hours waiting for my luggage, a train ride with a change and dwindling light; I hoped I had died and gone to heaven at Tabor. Once you have found Tabor, ring the bell and enter the extensive walled gardens, convent and church. Don't miss a peaceful walk around the gardens. Climb to higher floors for...

Convent stays are the way to go when visiting Rome! They are safe, clean, peaceful, and conveniently located. This was my first trip to Rome, and I was overjoyed by this convent! The building is very clean, modern, spacious, and convenient. The Franciscan Sisters are so kind and hospitable, and very joyous. There is a curfew and locked gates-- but...
