My husband and I stayed here from 15th-17th June. The stairs up to the reception level were a bit inconvenient with large suitcases. Reception area is small. The rooms are lovely, modern and clean, though was so small we had to stand our suitcases up behind the door which then made it difficult to get into the room. Free mini... More

The Demetra is new and clean and staffed by a very friendly staff. It is affordable and is within a 5-minute walk to either Termini or the Rome Metro. It is a bit of a hike over to Trevi Fountain and points west, but if you like a little walking this hotel can serve your needs. Their breakfast was a... More

We arrived in the hotel on Fri 1 July to be told our room wasn't ready we thought OK, no problems we will get some lunch at a cafe around the corner, we got back to the hotel again the room wasn't ready, but my daughters was, so we stopped in their room, after about 15 minutes the receptionist rang... This is a very good hotel in a very good location. 5 min walking from Rome train station, lots of good nearby restaurant, and you can walk to most the central attractions. This is a very typical Europe hotel, very tiny reception area, rooms are small and hard to turn around, but good enough to sleep 4 with 3 beds.... More

My sister and I visited the Demetra hotel last week for her birthday. I informed the hotel of this before we arrived and upon arrival they had upgraded us and as we dropped our bags in our room, arrived with a bottle of fizz and a Happy Birthday note- great customer service that was not expected! Great location, walking difference... More

This hotel is located within walking distance to the Termini train station, the main train station in town. If you pack light, there's no need to rent a cab. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the room merited it's 4 star status. Plenty of restaurants nearby. You may occasionally hear cars honking from the street below during the... More

We went during spring 2016. The hotel is in a shared building it seems on the second floor. There is a small elevator that you can take to the front desk or take the stairs. Most of the staff speak English, which helpful. SAAD was great! The hotel is 20 minutes walking distance away from the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain,... More

Small, boutique style hotel within 5mins walk of the Terminia and piazza republica. 2min walk to nearest tube and around a 10min stroll the Coliseum. Hotel rooms are fairly compact but well kitted out and with tea/coffee making facilities, great beds and modern bathrooms. We had everything we needed for our stay including mini fridge and hairdryer. The staff were... More

The Demetra is a hidden gem in Rome's city center. Reception/First Impressions: Arrived at 11:00AM, well before 2:00PM checkin. Rooms were not available, but they locked our bags in their luggage room for us. Reception area is very small; all of the desk staff that we spoke to were very friendly and helpful. Rooms: Very small (it's a European hotel... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
