For me, the highlight of this hostel is meeting the staff. Neri is super cute, friendly and always has a big smile on her face. Convenient location near Roma Termini, many keys but in the end straight forward with the use of only two or three. There's a communal fridge and sink. The rooms have clean bathrooms and spacious area...

- Look for a green door and the number 137. - The amount of keys will confuse you, but in the end you only need to use the two smallest ones and the electric clicker, it's simple. - Always remember to close the elevator doors, or it will stop working. - Only cash. Remember that city tax is a thing....

Beds and room were cozy, great view and awesome location being right across from termini. We were able to get back very easy from a lot of places with transit because of that. There is no big sign to find the place, so look for a house number instead of a sign. Bathrooms needed an upgrade or a solid cleaning...

The woman that ran this hostel was so kind! She spoke broken english and i spoke broken italian, so we made it work! she let me in during lock out hours since my train came in later than anticipated. She cleaned the room and the bathroom every day, which was a relief. The building was relatively secure. and the other...

Stayed here for four days. Close to everything because termini is right across the street, but it can also be loud at night! As other people said, there are a lot of Asian girls staying there (no problem with that), but they didn't speak English and there is no common room so some days I spoke to no one all...

I loved being here. The hostel is a easy find right across from Termini station so that makes it easy to get to places. Like others has said it's basically an apartment someone has changed into a hostel. You email the lady when you are to arrive and when you find the place (just a giant green door on the...

I stayed here in June 2014, it's really close to the train station. It's a very convenient location, but it also make for a lot of cat calling. I had a lot of difficulty getting situated into the hostel, there wasn't a staff member at the hostel. I'd just gotten off a flight so it was frustrating to wait to...

This hostel is located right by the Termini station which makes it perfectly positioned for travelling around Rome by train/bus. It is also very easy to get to/from the airport. The hostel is basically a subdivided apartment within an apartment block. It is very basic but clean. There isn't anyone on site to deal with issues but the landlady is...

I stayed 3 nights in this hostel while travelling by myself. It was very warm, but the airconditioner does it's job well. The hostel is very clean and comfortable with very good free wifi. There is no reception, but if you give the correct arrival time a lady will open the door for you. The hostel is literally across Termini...

Coconuts is advertised to females but located right outside is always a bunch of men loitering which can be quite offputting in the dark. It is located right next to termini which is really convenient and like most hostels is walking distance to alot of the major sights. The room itself was good and the bathroom ok. The lockers were...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
