Really good hotel. Receptionist very helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms small but well appointed and a/c that works. Brilliant location which is why prices are steep. But well worth it. The breakfast is complementary and there are lots of surrounding bars and restaurants.

We stayed in Rome for 3 nights on the first part of our Italy trip. The hotel itself is very nice, walking distance to plenty of landmarks. There are also plenty of buses that run along the same street as the hotel. The rooms were nice and spacious (for European standards), very clean and the bathroom shower was big with... More

The best thing is the location: you can walk and in no time be at Trastevere, quartiere ebraico, and, if you walk for 30' fontana di trevi. Rooms are nothing special, but comfy and clean. You don't want to spend time in the inner garden, it's a bit sad, but there is a breathtaking view form the terrace. Mind that... More

I spent four nights at Hotel Fortyseven prior to leaving Rome for my new job. The staff are super friendly, the hotel is well designed and rooms are comfy. The view of the city from the rooftop restaurant and bar is amazing. A group of us had dinner there last night and found the food to be excellent and service... More

Great modern hotel in the centre of Rome. Rooms are clean and well maintained, with a mini bar but not all have coffee making facilities. There are no irons or ironing boards in the rooms but there is an ironing room you can use. The staff are friendly, the food is good (or at least the breakfast is), and the... More

Never in my wildest dreams that I would find a gorgeous hotel in the heart of Rome! It is beautiful with all the modern conveniences and is in the best and safest location. My friends and I were very happy and satisfied with this hotel. Definitely exceeded our expectations. Our two-week vacation in the Amalfi coast definitely ended on a... More

We were looking for a four star hotel in Rome, away from the hoardes of tourists but still central to the major attractions. We found the perfect hotel at the 47. Ver comfortable rooms, pleasant and helpful staff and the perfect location. Breakfast was plentiful and the wait staff delightful. When we return to Rome we look forward to staying... More

As with all large cities, areas of Rome are noisy, crowded, and "touristy" - All things that we'd like to avoid when selecting a hotel. But, we wanted to be within walking distance of the sites (especially main archeological sites such as the Colosseum and Forum). We were only having 3 days in Rome and didn't want to waste even... This is a simply lovely little hotel with wonderful and attentive staff. Our rooms were well appointed and quiet. The location is great for getting to many things in easy walking distance or they are happy to call a cab. The buffet breakfast is excellent and they make great cappuccino!

Hotel 47 location was my deciding factor -- walking distance to Colosseum and ancient sites, to good food and fun in Trastevere across the river. I did not expect such a high level of service from the staff -- this is a comfortable 4 star hotel with a 5+ star staff! The "front desk" of Stephania, Michaela, Julia and more... More

Staying in Aventine

Neighborhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighborhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
