Referred by both a friend and our travel agency the Forty Seven proved to be a perfect place for our group of 10 friends celebrating a 50th bday! Nestled in the heart of the historical sites - we were able to walk everywhere and we did!! The hop on and off bus stop is also very close as is a... More

I was super-excited about this hotel after finding it on TripAdvisor. Rooftop restaurant with view of ruins? Sign me up! I booked through TripAdvisor. Problem 1: The hotel didn't see in my booking that there would be 2 adults AND 1 child staying in the room. The room they had set up for us could not accommodate an extra bed,... More

Our travel agent booked us into this hotel. It was perfectly situated for our sightseeing. It is within walking distance of the coliseum and forum plus multiple others. Our view was nice and our room was bigger than expected and very modern and comfortable. The breakfasts were good and the breakfast service was very good. My pet peeve of hotels... More

Dear guest, thank you for reviewing Hotel Fortyseven. We are glad to read that you enjoyed your stay with us. We are a boutique hotel, and as such, our Staff is not a “speed” but rather “quality” oriented one, this may signify a slower process but at the same time gives more attention to guests needs. We do have, however,... More

We spent two nights at this hotel and it was great. The rooms were clean and functional rooms with our own shower. Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was excellent with an amazing view of many sites (roof of the vatican, the "wedding cake" capital building, a few ruins). The hotel is 10-15 minutes from everything you might want... My wife and I stayed at 47 Hotel earlier this summer. The hotel has a good location and decent breakfast (although same items every day). However, if you have any issues the staff and management could care less. During our stay the AC wouldn't function properly, water leaked through the ceiling of our room and our bag was damaged by... This is a first class hotel. The location is central to everything and walkable ( Traveste, Jewish Ghetto, Trevi and the Colosseum). I had a room on the fifth floor, with a private balcony ( added bonus). The room was good size for me, very clean and neat. There were issues with the Wifi, which were corrected and within a... This is a modern styled hotel that has a convenient location to all the main Roman landmarks (Colosseum, Forum, Trevi fountain, Pantheon, etc.). We were able to walk to all of these, and even walked from the Vatican back to the hotel. The room had a king size bed, but was overall a little small. The shower was tight for... More

My wife and I stayed on the 5th floor of the 47 for 4 nights and here are the pros (not listed in order of importance obviously): 1. A very nicely sized room, nice décor, although simple 2. A very nice balcony off of our room (5th floor only but you would need to check) 3. Nice bathroom (see cons... More

Staying in Aventine

Neighborhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighborhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
