My husband and I recently spent a week at 47 Hotel Rome. The rooms were lovely, spacious, and with a view of the oldest marble building in Rome. One couldn't ask for more in the choices provided for breakfast. While we did not eat dinner at the roof top restaurant, we were sorely tempted, but ran out of time. We...

Although we were unable to stay at this beautiful property due to hotel unavailability, we did have a wonderful experience. As a result of an unpleasant taxi ride, we ended up stopping at the Fortyseven Hotel. We were very graciously greeted by the bellman who assisted us with the taxi driver, and also welcomed us into the hotel lobby. When...

Stayed here while visiting Rome for the first time. The staff is very welcoming, the room beautiful.... Went to the restaurant for dessert one tonight and my husband had the best tiramisu! Couldn't ask for anything more :)

Wow, what a great location! Spectacular roof top bar with amazing views. The lobby is a bit awkward and congested but the staff are nice and attentive. The room was the perfect size for 1-2 people. I was solo on a business trip. Because its Rome, and because most streets in old Rome are cobbled, street noise is LOUD so...

We have stayed at the Fortyseven Hotel for 3 nights in April. It was my partner’s 40th birthday and I wanted it to be special. We have been treated wonderfully by the hotel. They have arranged our transport from the airport, we didn’t have to wait at all (the driver was already waiting for us, looking very smart). Room was...

There are many nice hotels, but the aspect that transforms it into an excellent hotel is the people. The service and professionalism is simply one of the best I've encountered anywhere in the world, and I travel often. You will love this hotel, just across the river from the Trastevere.

Nice hotel near the Coliseum. This was a very nice hotel and close to sites. Also, a short walk to reasonable restaurants. The Concierge was very helpful. We only had a short time to see the Vatican, the Coliseum and other sites. He was able to book us two tours and we saw everything we wanted to see on short...

We really liked the hotel. Location is fantastic and the rooftop bar was a total pleasure. Front desk were attentive. I've rated it 4 stars for a couple of reasons; the room was overly warm and we could not make it cooler. Secondly the breakfast room was small for the amount of guests in the hotel and our party could...

Easy walk to most sights. Go early, unless you enjoy standing in very long lines, or hire a guide. Room was clean and of a decent size. Very comfortable beds. And also quiet. Staff quite nice and helpful.

Staying in Aventine

Neighborhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighborhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
