if you want a very basic clean place to stay then this is it. If you want something with airconditioning that works, or some other amenities that most americans take for granted, than it is worth paying a little more for a different hotel. But this place is in a great location, and if all you need is a place...

We have just returned from Italy and spent two nights at the Panda Hotel in Rome. I have never seen a room so tiny, the bed was 1.2 x 2.20m bed but there was a basin in the room. Even the window was narrow but long. As it was over 30 degrees we paid Euro 6 extra for the air...

Towels changed every day. NB Towels not your usual thick fluffy ones more like large white cotton sheets but served the purpose and did...

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.

“Big rooms: 10,11,20,27, 28, 29,35. being on the via della Croce near the Spanish Steps there is a lot of daytime bustle. At night there is a bit of nearby restaurant action but it's far from noisy. For high season booking ahead is essential.”
