Booked a double and a triple room for my family of 5. All of the staff from the front desk to the bar staff were pleasant and helpful. Rooms have alot of character and are clean and comfortable. The excellent buffet breakfast includes hot and cold food. Last time I was in Rome I also stayed here.....my 2nd stay was... More

This hotel was decorated with colonial style of furniture. I felt like I had a trip back in time. The matching historical costumes were the only things missing. It was located in a relatively residential area, very quiet at night, and near a local pastry shop/cafe where you could get things for a lesser price than the touristic zones. We... More

This is a wonderful little property. It was referred to us by friends in Australia and didn't disappoint. The service is courteous and attentive. The location is ideal - a short walk to a wide range of food options and various tourist attractions.

Very good hotel in a great location such as Aventino hill. Even if it is close to the city center and its unique attractions, the neighbourhood is quite and far from the traffic. Rooms are big and clean. Courteous staff and rich breakfast.

San Pio was a nice villa in an excellent location if you're looking to stay in a quiet neighborhood that is near enough to popular sites to walk to, but yet far enough away from the craziness of downtown Rome that you don't feel engulfed by all the traffic pedestrian or otherwise. San Pio also offers a nice breakfast but... More

We stayed here due to the hotels location to Circus Maximus in the city. The hotel is roomy, comfortable and reasonably clean. We stayed in room 530 which is on the 4th floor of the main block above reception. This room is very spacious with a roof terrace which is handy if you fancy a rest and relax on your... More

This is truly a Villa setting, with lush landscaping, beautiful on the outside and inside, with a private veranda. The location was residential, but just a couple of blocks to public transportation and within walking distance to the Coliseum. They serve a complementary breakfast which was beyond my expectations! The front desk staff arranged a Vatican tour for us which... More

We initially planned to stay in Aventino, booked an appt but failed to meet our host. Thus, at midnight we occured to be in San Anselmo hotel for 1 night, and then moved to San Pio for another 2 nights. I must say that was a great luck. This part of Aventino is a bit like my favorite 16th in... More

Hands down one of the best hotel experiences I've had. We loved the room, generous breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, thorough cleaning and the quiet yet central neighborhood. Loved the happy hour and our friendly Philippine waiter.

Staying in Aventine

Neighborhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighborhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
