This hotel was very quaint and welcoming! The staff was very friendly. They were helpful with me making a reservation for a dinner prior to my arrival as well. They also had a car sent to the airport for us upon our arrival. The hotel was clean and had a nice little breakfast. The terrace areas were beautiful. The location... More

We were lucky to get a room here since the highly rated Santa Maria next door lost our reservations due to a computer glitch plus all rooms were sold out in Trastevere. Grew points for friendly staff. Looks like family run. Hotel is a little hidden gem, beds very comfortable roof top garden charming. Breakfast decent continental. Area is close... More

I spent the better part of the day researching Trastevere hotels for my husband and I and our two friends. We'd all landed in Rome, visited the Amalfi coast by car and were ending our stay in Rome. I was familiar with the area but we were staying only 1 night, and our friends 2 nights. It ended up being... More

Great location to stay for short city break. 2 couples and 2 Children( teenager and 9 year old). Small rooms but very comfortable, clean and close to many restaurants, bars shops. (Don't be put of by graffiti outside) About 30mins Walking distance to Vatican and Colosseum. About €8 for a taxi. Street entertainment at night in the square. Tour guide... More

The last time we visited Rome was 10 years ago and we stayed at Hotel Santa Maria which is just beside Villa Fonte, and to be honest we looked at that Hotel again and i was booked out, but I found this one and booked direct with them and it was less than half the price. Well we are just... More

With taxes and all I paid almost $150 USD per night, which I think is very expensive for what you get. I could have gotten a cheaper place, but was mislead by the ratings and price savings shown in Expedia and Tripadvisor which priced it around $234. I stayed in a single with a twin bed which I will admit... More

It's the first time I have to answer at one rewiev like this. We prefer spend our time to do the best we can for the guest. Our price are on the web side and are not a surprise at the arrival. I use to work in a 4 stars hotel and the breakfast is quite the same there's not... More

So charming...clean rooms, wonderful terrace, good breakfast. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. We've been a month in Italy and this was our final stop...so much more relaxing than "The Other Rome" across the river. Trastevere is a unique, authentic slice if Italy. A bit noisy but aren't most European hotels. A white noise machine and earplugs have been... More

Suited us brilliantly, loved the area and the charm of the b and b. Not all staff spoke English but they were friendly and helpful. For a bed while you explore great, two terraces for some outside space. Breakfast okay, rooms a bit small but this is Rome and for the price we were happy. Liked the neighbourhood feel of Trastevere.........and... More

We wanted to stay a little off the "beaten path" & really liked this neighborhood which appeared more local & less touristy. The staff was helpful though we did have a tiny bit of a problem communicating once or twice because we don't speak Italian (our fault - not theirs). The room was comfortable, the toilet modern (though the shower... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
