Me and my fried had a pleasant stay. Everyone was very nice and helpful. We had a very beautiful and clean room. Beside the hotel was a sweet, little market with fresh fruits. You can walk 20 min to Collosseo, 7 min to Termini or 7 min to an other subway station. We had an amazing time in Rome. It... More

Located very near the main station and the price was good. Quiet enough, but for light sleepers there's a busy road nearby. Area seems a bit unsafe at night, I probably wouldn't stay here by myself. Good if you're just looking for somewhere to sleep.

Great location- a few minutes walk from Rome Termini station. Very clean rooms but traffic outside is very loud (which is expected being so close to the station!) Wifi was a bit iffy and there were limited plug sockets in the rooms. They didn't have a luggage room so we were asked to leave our bags opposite the reception desk... More

Stayed at Stargate for the first two nights of my Rome trip. Very close form the train station, two minute walk. The guy was very friendly- rooms were ok and what you would expect but I'm sure there is better out there in from for the amount of money spent. Good spot to stay a couple of nights but no... More

Great location, just minutes from Termini and walking distance to most tourist attractions. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Wifi avail in our room. Air con iffy. Good restaurants close by, laundromat close bar. Security ok. All in all great place for reasonable price in a majour city

I planned to stay in not that expensive hotel travelling to Italy and I found that place. Very nice room, clean bathroom, TV set, fridge. Only one thing: I had to leave the key all the time on reception before going out. The breakfast was included, but the bread was a bit dry. There are a lit if nice cafeterias... More

The receptionist unlocked our room, then we got stolen some stuff. The receptionist, wouldnt call the police, so we went to a police station, then they sent us to another, and then they said they couldnt handle that kind of things, so they sent a car down to the hotel. When we arrived to the hotel, the receptionist started lying... More

This hostel was after reading not very positive reviews a great surprise! First, amazing location two minutes to Termini station - no need to spend money for public transport you cant even rely on; if youre ready to walk, you can walk to city center in few minutes. Second, really clean and quiet room with nice bathroom plus the air... More

If you're looking for a cheap place to lay your head whilst travelling, this is a good place. Don't expect luxury, the rooms are okay, the bathrooms, not so good. But for the price you pay, it is a good deal. Great location as well and the staff are very nice. If you're on a tight budget like we were,... More

If you are looking for a nice, affordable place to enjoy the delights of Rome, look no further. My stay at Hostel Stargate was highly satisfying. Great reception from Karim, amazing location, comfortable beds, nice people - all for a good price. Isn't this what every traveller looks for in a place to stay?

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
