The location of this place was fantastic - it's pretty much a 10 to 11 euro cab ride to all of the popular locations just about any time of day if you get a reputable cab driver. Walking is possible to most if you don't mind walking 400 - 600m on everage. The best luxury products mall is just down the street, so if that's your thing then this is a good place to stay! Outside the hotel was very clean and nice with nobody harrassing us like they do at some of the tourist sights. The staff was friendly and managed to get our kids on the same floor as us (only 2 people per room so a family of 4 requires 2 rooms). The rooms were excellent, the bed was comfortable, the bedding was good, the pillows were good, and the climate control worked well. The shower and bathroom were very nice. The towel heater didn't work in our room but it did in our kids. Otherwise, everything was flawless. The maids did a good job cleaning every day, but it was a bit late - around 3pm. The breakfast was the star of the show - OH MY GOODNESS, what a phenomenally good assortment of ridiculously fresh fruit, vegitables, cheeses, meats, and pastries. It literally was as good as the best place we went to in Paris, but the fruts, cheeses and veggies were even better. When we went to the Sorrento area they were bragging about how great their tomatoes are (and for the record, I hate tomatoes), but the ones here were firm flavor bombs that were like eating fresh grapes off the tree. I actually ate them both days!!! The cheeses were more amazing than anything I ever had in Amsterdam, Paris, London or Belgium, and the Italian meats were divine! My wife loved the eggs and was blown away by them bringing us freshly made tiramisu for breakfast the first day! The coffee was gormet, and the service was pleasant. I really can't say enough good things about the breakfast. We often stay in Intercontinental Hotels, Hyatt, Four Seasons, and the like, but this place is my current worlds best hotel for breakfast - no joke! There's a little bit of street noise even on the 4th (technically 5th since they start at 0) floor, but we were so exhausted in the evenings it didn't bother us. The elevator isn't for the clostrophobic either! Lastly, the building we stayed in was around the corner from the lobby where you check in, so that feels a bit odd to westerners. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again though - it really is excellent.

Dear Customer, It is really a pleasure for us to read the commentary on your stay. I personally want to thank you for having found the time and the words to describe your impressions about us and our hotel. I'm glad you could appreciate the comfort of our luxury, sober and refined, where the generous spaces create a warm and welcoming environment like that of your own home. We are also grateful for the words spent on our staff, who obviously knew how to meet your expectations and needs. Everything we do, what distinguishes us, is only the attention to detail, like the real hosts who welcome not just guests, but welcome friends, to let him live a warm and harmonious experience away from the impersonality and monotony of places already seen. We will be happy to welcome you here again, to start from where we left off. Best wishes, Franco Ascoli – HS ROME

“Just back from a lovely trip to the Eternal City and this time we decided to splash out by staying at the tried and tested Hotel Stendhal. Booking directly with them via their website we were treated to first class service and accommodation. Everything went smoothly from the slick check in to the super fast wi-fi in both the rooms and common areas. Fabrizio and Suraj were particularly helpful when it came to restaurant recommendations and they also helped us organise our taxi to the airport. We plan to come back next Summer 2023.

If you are traveling as a family of four and would rather have two connecting rooms with two bathrooms than a suite with separate bedroom but only one bathroom, this hotel is an excellent choice. We stayed in the Deluxe Family Room which is two full size hotel rooms connected by their own private vestibule. The rooms are nicely sized and nicely appointed with modern decor. The windows let in no outside noise and the curtains allow the room to be totally dark. One room had a view of the Bernini Square and one a Juliet balcony in an interior courtyard. Both had large, nice bathrooms. Bot had mini fridges stocked daily with soda and waters. Rooms were clean and cleaned well daily. Location was perfect for getting around the city. By foot, the furthest attractions were about a 25 minute walk (Vatican, Colosseum), while many others were 10-15 minute walks (Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain). By metro, there is a stop right outside the hotel. While we absolutely recommend this hotel, we give it 4/5 stars because while it is good, there are a few things holding it back from being great; however, if you want a room this size in Rome, it's a terrific option. Things holding it back form being 5/5 are: - Breakfast was just ok, not bad but not great. We'd just come from a property in Florence that had excellent breakfast so that kind of influenced our feelings here but I'd say breakfast was more on par with breakfast at a US business hotel that includes breakfast, like a Hyatt Centric, than a luxury breakfast in Europe. - The suites are in a separate building with an entrance around the corner from the main lobby. Everything felt very secure as you had to key into budding door, then hallway door, then vestibule door, then room door to get into our rooms, but we just can't give a place a 5/5 where you never interact with lobby staff for an entire trip as it just feels a step down from a luxury property. - The entrance to the main hotel is on an avenue but the suites building is on a narrower side street across from a restaurant with outside seating. Our biggest dislike of this hotel was every night we walked out the door for dinner, many of which we were waiting for an Uber outside, the owners of the restaurant across the street would literally harass us, even crossing the street to talk to us, begging us to come eat at their restaurant. The begging to come in is common in the tourist areas but we don't eat at those kids of places and it's very annoying to encounter this every time you step outside between 16:00-21:00.

First minute I walked in, the person at check-in demonstrated foresight above and beyond required. Room was perfectly decorated, clean and calming. Reception were attentive. Breakfast service was fast. If I was going to mention negatives, hotel does not have duvets. They have thin blankets so you will have multiple thin blankets if you are cold. Second, tv system could be set up so you can cast from phone.

Great breakfast and service, also the view and balcony were beautiful. Everyone was friendly at the desk and helped out with any questions.it was nice being served coffee in the morning at breakfast and the rooms beautiful, cosy, with books, art and historic photos. It is a very relaxing one of a kind space to spend my morning before a busy day.

Excellent service! The entire staff of the hotel from front desk to breakfast crew, bell hops and housekeeping were at their best. Attentive and respectful. The breakfast was good and has a good variety of choices. We enjoyed our stay and would book with this hotel when we go back to Rome!

Nice hotel, no question, ideal location. However, On arrival Reception would need a lesson on how to smile & be more friendly - short - very frosty. Elevator is to small !! Absolutely, nothing for claustrophobic people, and I was on the 6 floor, right at the top. Roomservice is a miss period. Room, 601 is very small. Thank you God that I traveled alone. On departure no porter on duty, as they are very expensive .... Most of the staff are very friendly. Rooms fully equiped and amenities are stocked in the bathroom. Breakfast buffet leaves no wishes. Plentiful and lovely arranged. When you book, be very specific regarding your wishes re room location & size of the room. For me a 3 to 4 stars on some of the above mention

I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The rooms were spotlessly clean and well equipped. Every member of staff there was helpful and very pleasant and couldn't do enough for us. I would most definitely stay there again and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of going to Rome.

Great location for us. We could walk to most places and we used an Uber one time. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was decent but would have loved some scrambled eggs on the buffet. Rooms are definitely on the smaller end. It felt like a studio apartment for the most part.
