Residenza Ave Roma is your home in Rome. Come and visit us ...we will be glad to welcome and assist you during your stay. We are not a big impersonal hotel, but a small jewel in the heart of the historic centre.
I can't fault this hotel, it was a wonderful stay from start to finish. Thank you Vera for hosting us! - great location just a short scenic walk across the beautiful Ponte Sant'Angelo to Castel Sant'Angelo and St Peter's Basilica - convenient for the Sunday Papal Angelus. It's not the touristic centre, which is a 15-20min walk away, and across town from Termini which is a 40min walk, but convenient for us wanting to head into Vatican City, and extremely quiet. - easy to find, I followed directions from another review. It's a big metal gate and you can buzz to be asked in, and we were given a room electronic key card and a gate key to let ourselves in. We left our bags in the breakfast room on our last day and were given just the gate keys to let ourselves in to collect the luggage. Super convenient. - VERY quiet. Our room faced the non-road side with a window looking out onto the courtyard below and the night was dead quiet on a June weekend. I slept like the dead! - great hosting - Vera's advice was so helpful and saved our lives on more than one occasion with her tips and tricks, particularly her tip about the underground electric walkway from Spanish Steps towards Villa Borghese which saved us a very hot noonday walk! I felt very well taken care of and welcomed. - delicious Roman breakfast from 8-10am of tasty pastries (mm, chocolate-filled croissants), a selection of teas - essential for Brits - and toast, salami, cheese, coffee, cereals, yoghurts etc in the cute breakfast room, which set us up excellently for the day - cleaned every day, fresh linens towels and toiletries, overall very clean. The bathroom was a little worn with a basic shower curtain over a bathtub but clean and serviceable, with good hot water. - strong AC, I slept very well despite the boiling June temperatures - incredibly affordable for Rome centre, the room felt spacious for what it was, with a double bed, table, two chairs, and a single bed, plus mini-fridge and en suite bathroom. The decor is kitschy Rome vibes with yellow fabric wallpaper but I enjoyed it!…
Very good hotel. Room was cleaned every morning, air conditioning in the room. Very comfortable bed, delicious breakfast. Excellent location, on the river and a ten minute walk from the Vatican and the centre of Rome. Would highly recommend staying here
Very nice simple room in the middle of everything. Good morning breakfast. Staff very helpful and had great suggestions on food and how to get around. Would highly recommend staying here. We walked everywhere from this location. Bus stopped out front and so did Uber.
We will come back again and again. Vincenzo and Vera help make this a wonderful place to stay. Beautifully decorated, very clean, great AC, close to everything. Vincenzo could not be a nicer man. He helped get the rooms we wanted, helped get the best rate, recommended great places to eat, and even walked us in and introduced us to the restaurant owners. This is the kind of place you hope you find any time you travel, and I can't say enough good things about it. Vera prepared a wonderful and filling breakfast and was so nice to talk to. I even read the negative comments and tried to find what those people didn't like and couldn't. Trust the 381 good reviews, not the 12 negative ones. Have stayed here twice and so pleased that I would even look for somewhere else to stay. Great great place with great people.…
Nice host. They were very helpful and polite. We stayed here for 3 nights and didn't faced any problem. Only problem we faced is the bathroom door was difficult to close. Otherwise breakfast and location wise I highly recommend to stay in this hotel.
Great value, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, excellent location near Piazza Navonna, close to Vatican, easy commute to Colosseum and Roman Forum. Vincenzo and Vera were very hospitable and provided useful information. The breakfast room provides breakfast from 8 to 10 am with quality food and convenience. The beds were comfortable. The room was clean. A light burned out and was quickly replaced. We walked everywhere from this location and the bus is only two blocks away. It is location directly across the Tiber River from Castle de Santa Angela.
I stayed at 5 different Hotels and B&B's while in Italy. Four were great. This one was nothing like the pictures and many amenities listed were not there. First, I checked in and was asked to pay in full when I said I was there for three nights. They said okay then pay tomorrow. Then I mentioned that the mini fridge didn't work. I was told in was over 15 years old(??) The bathroom door was very hard to close, and the spare blanket smelled like old gym socks. The pillows were all terrible at best. We could hear the people next door clearly. The breakfast could only accommodate 6 people and you can not take it back to your room. Smoke free only if you don't count the owners. Location is all this place has going for it. This is what I would have expected for half the price and cannot understand some of these reviews.…
We stayed for 3 nights and the hotels loction is great. The staff is very helpfull and friendly. The room and bathroom is nice and spacious. We stayed in a room on the street side and it is noisy. The breakfast is also below standard. This is a nice hotel, but at €140 / night, it's overpriced
This hotel is a gem of a find and my husband and I spent some very comfortable days here on 2 occasions. The hotel is centrally and conveniently located ( opposite Castel San Angelo) and is within easy walking distance to Navona, Trevi, Pantheon and other sights. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with a mini fridge and a lot of closet space. The rooms and bathroom are very clean and well maintained. Some rooms look to a quiet back street while others are at a basement level with windows looking to the river-- we stayed in both types and found them equally comfortable. Many hotels in Rome seem to be old houses that have been converted and renovated and not custom built hotels and this is one such conversion-- as a result the breakfast area is tiny but well stocked and a variety of cereal, breads, croissants, meat and cheese available. Often what one remembers after a holiday are the people who featured in it and the hotels managers Vincenzo and Vera are exceptional in their care and hospitality. Nothing is too much trouble and they go out of their way to be helpful and kind. The area around the hotel has many cafes and restaurants and the alleys behind have a few grocery stores. We highly recommend this hotel and look forward to our return in November.…
My wife and I cannot support the 4-star rating of this accommodation. We were in Room #1--street-facing. This was NOTHING like the pictures we reviewed online--two single beds in a cramped space. We were told that nothing else was available. The bathroom was very, very tiny with a raised floor to the toilet and shower. The bathroom door rubbed against the floor when you opened it. We just dealt with it as it would not have been fixed anytime soon even if we complained. My wife was surprised that I could even shut the shower door to bathe and I am not an exceptionally large person. She had to stand outside the shower to shave her legs. We had come from Venice where we stayed at another 4 star-rated B&B. We would have rated this B&B 5 stars for location, service, accommodation, and breakfast. Along with everything else mentioned previously, the breakfast here was meager and in a very small facility. On the positive side, it is extremely centrally-located and near a major bus transport location, but do not depend on bus #492 to get you to where you want to go on time. Bus #492 has become a marker for my wife and I to laugh about. Vincenzo was very helpful and pointed us to a restaurant near the Vatican that was excellent and reasonable.…
