I stayed here with my girlfriend for 5 nights due to the low price giving us more money to spend on external activities, fantastic value for money however you pay by being in a very dirty part of the city, the air con stinks and to control it you need to go reception each time, it was more an upscale... Dreaded going to this hotel after spending 3 nights in a lovely place in Sorrento. Having read the reviews I was so worried that it would not be a good place to take 37 14 year old kids. However... the building is a lovely old Italian one with a nice entrance and a large reception area. The rooms are ok... More

In all our years of travelling abroad this is by far the worst hotel we have stayed in.The room had a damp and musty smell and there were patches of mould on most of the walls. The décor was appalling. The shower cabinet had a door missing with a makeshift shower curtain. The sink had a crack in it,there was verdigree on the... The truth is that I thought this hotel would be worse. The most important thing for me, was that it should be clean. Luckily, both the room and the bathroom were clean and the furniture was not dated or old - fashioned. Only the blankets in the closet did not seem fresh. Generally, the room was pretty small and the... More

The hotel looks nice only from inside. When you enter you will see that the only good thing is the stuff. The administrator is always very nice! When I entered the room, whichwas on the third floor, I was shocked! Dark room pained in sort of violet color, NO WINDOWS, smelling bad, and the bathroom was so uncomfortably, that you... More

It's a cheap hotel near Termini station. It's in a little better area (Termini's immediate surrounding is quite terrible) The reception area was nice, the room was ok. The minibar was empty, but there were vending machines in the lobby. Bathroom was clean, but wear and tear was most visible there. No street noise coming through, but you can hear... More

Bathroom was kind of okay, shower was not small but not big as well, for example i couldn't wash without slippers, even thou... More

We had a group of forty, and while we were there we saw other large groups come and go. The hotel handled them deftly, though we did have to wait awhile for our rooms. That said, I would gladly stay here alone or with my family. The front desk was staffed 24/7 and very helpful. They printed out vouchers for... More

I bought this a few weeks ago and this was good decision. Hotel is near the train station Termini, five minutes to go by foot to metro and fifteen minutes to go by foot to Collosseum. Breakfest buffet - croissants, scrambled eggs, juice, tea, coffee but no fruits. The only bad was window in the room next to footway and... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
