We stayed at one of our formerly favorite global hotels (now purchased by Hotel Trevi Collectionand being gutted and redone) for one night before our cruise. We accidentally dropped a makeup bottle on the glass-topped table, and the glass shattered. We cleaned up and brought it to the attention of the front desk at checkout the next morning. The front...

The room was very small, the bed was hard and the bathroom was tiny. The shower was miniscule, and the shower door was broken. Don't drop you soap, you can't bend over to pick it up. You have to put your room key in an outlet in the wall to turn on electricity in your room. The pluses, a nice...

If this is your first visit to this hotel you will find a hotel that is well located, but average in every other way. The atmosphere and design is, as one Italian reviewer noted, banal international. To get reliable internet access you might need to sit near the door in the entrance to your room, as I did. Breakfast is...

The hotel is located in an old building just 100 metres from the Spanish Steps. It is quite difficult to find the hotel at first, as there is just a small sign and you have to ring a bell. Staff was very friendly and check-in was quick. The hotel is more like a big old-fashioned flat. The furniture is definitely...

We had a terrible, horible experience at this hotel. We were booked at Hotel Suisse (which they recently acquired by (Hotel Trevi Collection ) and nobody informed us where to check-in (we walked around the neighborhood with our big bags for 20 minutes) along with a small baby of one year and after a 7 hours flight. Our suffering did...

Very nice place to stay: 1) Perfect location. I don't like the underground at Rome - too deep, too overloaded. But from via Gregoriana you can reach a lot of main places of interest by foot. Or by bus (e.g.Vatican). 2) The room and bathroom was perfectly clean. It's very important for me. 3) Very nice and helpful staff. They...

We stayed here for 5 nights in late September and it was incredible! The staff were so friendly and they made us very welcome. Having breakfast delivered to your room is a lovely treat and on our last morning, despite having to leave early they still managed to send us on our way having provided us with breakfast. Great location...

The hotel occupies the third floor of an old an beautiful building. The position is perfect to go around Rome. Few minutes from the metro and at walking distance from the Spanish steps and the historical center. There are plenty of restaurants and bars around as well. The hotel is family owned, but I understand this will change soon. It...

Small but clean room, super good personnel! Breakfast is served in room, but was extremely basic, a bit more options could be offered! Still a good value for the money - the location is awesome! Just a few minutes from the Spanish steps!

Hotel Suisse was PERFECT for our group of 8 college girl friends for our stay in Rome. The location, hospitality, service and assistance was beyond measure. On the second floor of an office/residential building tucked away on via Gregoriana, it is not your typical hotel. Our group would meet after breakfast in a cozy sitting room to plan our day...

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
