My husband and I just spent 7 nights at the My husband and I just spent 7 nights at the Relais Banchi Vecchi in Rome. The location was just perfect perfect perfect! Walking distance to EVERYTHING! It's in between a hotel and an apartment. Milana the owner was there when we arrived and was very helpful and spoke English well....

We stayed at the Relais for one week in early January 2005. Considering the price, the accomodations are stylish, new, and simple. The neighborhood is great--close to the Campo and just a hop across the river to both the Vatican and Trastevere. The relais and the street have a residential feel. One downside--as to be expected from a B&B, there's...

A nice B&B near the Campo Dei Fiori. For the price, it cannot be beat. The rooms are clean and have nice style - marble bathrooms, wood trim, etc. It's a hands-off experience. No staff per se. Almost like a residence. The only downside is that they make you enter via the alley on Via Pavone, off the Corso Vittorio....

Best B&B for the price, location, and amenities (like A/C and TV). Great, clean, and spacious accomodations (for Rome especially!). Walking distance to everything. Would definitely stay there again and again.

The BV is in a great location, within easy walking to all the major tourist sites of the centro storico. It is just off the via Vittorio Emanuelle, with easy connections to taxis and buses, but entered off the quiet via Pavone. One of the nicest experiences of our stay was walking where we needed to go along the via...

I'm nervous to write this review. When I started researching hotels for Rome, I couldn't believe how expensive they were. I booked this hotel after reading such good reviews AND the price was reasonable. We met Marlena (the owner) when we first arrived and she was incredibly nice and helpful. Our room was amazing. Hard wood floors, wooden beam ceilings,...

This B&B is by no means an upscale hotel, but it is such a gem for the price. There is no front desk, so if you need a full-service hotel, this is not the place for you. We stayed in Room 5 for 120 euros/night. The room was huge, with a separate foyer which include a kitchenette. The room and...

Stayed here over the New Year holiday 2003/4 and maybe that was the problem. After booking in on the first day, we saw NO staff at all - even our breakfast was mysteriously delivered outside the door of our room, announced by a knock, but by the time we got to the door whoever had brought it had disappeared! We...

Don't really want to post this as would like to make sure there are rooms available next time we go to Rome! I agree with other posters comments re room size, mini bar, lack of hairdryer etc. Would like to add that not seeing any staff isn't such a bad thing... makes it feel more like home than a hotel...

Just completed a three day stay at the Banchi Vecchi and found it to be above average in all respects. The upside: huge room with large closets, mini-fridge a small hotplate (never used by us) and a few dishes, cutlery etc. Clean. Great location, just across the river from the Vatican and easy to reach by public transportation. We walked...

Staying in Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori

Neighborhood Profile
Navona / Pantheon / Campo de’ Fiori
With three of Rome’s most beloved piazzas within a five-minute walk of each other, the Navona/Pantheon/Campo area may be the prettiest and most picturesque area of the city. Join the beautiful throngs hanging out in cafes, boutiques, art galleries, and wine bars, or peek at a neighborhood museum or monument. If you want nonstop movida, the streets here are busy with chic bicyclists and Vespa drivers, street vendors, merchants, and locals. There is no rhyme or reason to its winding streets and there's something to see around every corner, so take pleasure in a spontaneous wander.
