The rooms are basic, but comfortable. Breakfast is nothing to write home about though. However, we were on a budget and this was a great find. Two minutes...

The hardest bed known to man. Took the bread buns home to use as cricket balls too. The location is good though but the bed and breakfast is not good. If like me you get up after 9am to come down for breakfast, don't expect much to be left.

Marco Polo has extremely friendly and helpful staff. They help us with a map and gave us excellent tips. All I ask of a hotel room are clean sheets, clean bathroom and a hot shower - Marco Polo had all of these. And the location was excellent for walking to all the attractions, plus the airport shuttle bus and train/metro...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
