You've read all the bad things about this place - it is still all true, which I recently experienced staying there from September 12-17. The manager is still the grimmest man in the world, the cold breakfast and its sludgy coffee and coloured water impersonating orange juice left me cold, the lift can only accommodate two people, you still cannot... Not a good wifi, but freindly staff, cosy and quiet place, not have various food for breakfast, better to book double bedroom due to very very small bedrooms, a bit far from the city centerthat is why at it takes at least 20min on foot to get the nearest landmark.

We enjoyed our stay, this hotel is strategically located, staff is always available for any question, the breakfast was pleasant and full filling. The room was comfortable and when I kindly asked if the wifi could work in the room the gentleman at reception made it work although he could not guarantee it for all the time. In the lobby... More

Rooms are tiny, air conditioning is turned off by reception at 8.00 in the morning, so if it is hot don't expect to go back to a cold room!!! Staff are very rude and not helpful at all. Wi Fi needs to be paid for and only works in the Lobby. Wouldn't recommend for anyone to stay there!!

Travelling with elderly parents. We were literally scolded when we inquired if the room had a kettle. The staff at the reception said in a very demeaning tone - 'this is not a 5 star hotel'. I don't think there was a need for such a strong response to a simple question. Internet connectivity is poor and costs 5 Euros.... More

Its close to the Termini station and republica subway stop. Our room was clean but small. Rooms were reasonably priced. TV is small, Breakfast is included but don't expect much. They have a non-working internet and they charge for 5euro. When I complained they returned my money but the 50 year old male receptionist ( maybe the owner) had a... More

I liked Corona's smaller size compared to nearby hotels. Service is acceptable without exception. Just steps to the opera house and a short walk to Termini. I noted that housekeeping was coming later in the PM than some may expect.

We stayed 5 days in this hotel. It was clean and the staff was helpful. There was not free wifi and the free breakfast was quite underwhelming. They only had rolls, lunch meat, and cheese available. The bathroom was of decent size, but the shower took at least 10 minutes to get warm. And good luck adjusting the water temperature... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
