Had a lovely week at the Beehive. A big plus for me is how close it is to Termini, the main train station. Made it super easy to get there from Florence, get around by the metro or bus and leave using the fast train to the airport! I stayed in 'The Sweets' in the apartment building round the corner... Stayed in the newly acquired Hotel Urbe one block away from the Beehive(with 8 rooms all with ensuite bathrooms) for the first time. Rooms are on the small side and more simplistic, less "fancy" than the ones in "The Sweets" (another part of the Beehive), where we stayed before. We loved, that it's on the 5th floor and therefore pretty... More

Myself and my partner had a great stay over 2 nights at The Beehive. The staff were SO helpful, and dealt with a load of our annoying queries. The app and the PDF guide came in handy too. Our double room was very comfortable, quiet and clean, with a sink, a ceiling fan (which did the trick for us!) and... More

We recently stayed there for 2 nights. Communications beforehand were excellent and many questions I had got answered by Linda the owner. Upon arrival we were asked to pay in full upfront, something usually not done in Europe but it was fine. Also there is a gate with a bell security is beefed up. The building we slept in had... More

Me and my husband spent 6 nights in the Beehive.. Great location and very convenient to get around anywhere as it is just a few minutes walk to the Termini Station. The decorations are full of character. The staff were very helpful to us and very accomodating. We booked for "the sweets" room, which is a private room, although the bathroom... More

The Beehive is kind of what you want to make it, it has dorm rooms for the cheaper traveller, rooms with shared bathrooms for mid range and rooms with private bathrooms for the full Hotel experience, as there were three of us, my partner, daughter and myself, we went for the latter. Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
