First of all when they told me that the hotels were average in Rome, I was psychologically prepared for the worst. Until I meet the professional staff of the hotel. All the rooms are nicely decorated and the water is very hot (and not cold). Some rooms with jacousie, some with stairs in the room. 805 was one floor, calm...

The service personnel is friendly room service and cleaning is good. The hotel is very close to the city center and is close to metro that can get you to the main attractions of the city. Unfortunately everything is a little bit old but you can live with it.

I stayed here in June 2016 with family. Had a pleasant stay in this hotel. Sleep quality was good. Nice friendly staff. Breakfast was alright too. The only thing to be fixed I guess the elevator. I feel worry every time I have to get into elevator, it's small and squeaky.

I became ill while staying at the Hotel Galles. At 2 am I went downstairs and told the person on duty at the desk that I needed to go to a hospital. He was so helpful. He called a taxi for us, (and asked them to send their closest vehicle- which arrived within 5 minutes!) went out with us to...

We wanted a quiet room it was really quiet (103). The people at reception speak different languages so it is a great help. Booking for sight seeing is available as well. The breakfast is a buffet, it is ok (warm and cold food). The breakfast place is clean and food is always available. The rooms are clean and the hotel...

Hotel Galles has clean rooms, running water and wifi, so if that's all you need then it will do. The main issues are that the staff are indifferent to the guests, the breafast is of a low standard and there is a paucity of natural light. The other annoying thing is they charge you city tax when you leave even...

Great location close to metro very clean and helpful polite staff . Breakfast a little cramped due to a small buffet area ! It would be nice to have tea/coffee facilities in rooms . We were lucky enough to be upgraded free of charge to a suite , this was very traditional unique and a real treat thank you so...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
