We recently returned from Rome, during its HOTTEST SUMMER IN HISTORY- Yet, THIS HOTEL is a Pleasure!!!!! Keep in mind room #201! It’s a very large Suite-you feel as though you’re in a home rather than a hotel room!! Our photos share the story better than my narrative- However, I will mention several great pluses! Location!!!! Walking steps from the Main Piaza that is a hub of restaurants, Gelato Stops (My first Gelato, and yes I am hooked!!!) Sketch Artists!!! One Artist in particular, is a Master, and one of our bucket list moments was being drawn/sketched by him! See photos 🥰 The room is air conditioned, has plenty of space, as well as coffee maker, refrigerator, dresser drawers (multiple ones), a safe, TV-but all I could get in English is CNN. A lovely leather chair with ottoman, nightlights on each side of the bed, shower, bidet and toilet in the bathroom with a lovely niche to place your toiletries etc. The staff are all very kind and Accomodating! The rooftop has a lovely bar with seating that shows you magnificent views of the city. There is also a lovely sitting area-similar to a living room on the first floor where u can enjoy and relax between shopping and your days in Rome. ♥️…
Wonderful hotel! Beautiful facilities and rooms. Very modern and pristine. Would highly recommend to all my family and friends. Staff was also very accommodating and friendly. Can’t wait to return to this lovely hotel.
Great experience in this hotel in a perfect location just minutes from the major attractions of Rome. Always kind staff available and perfectly clean rooms. Sunset terrace ideal at the end of the day to enjoy a drink. We will certainly return.
Relais Orso is wonderful, albeit a bit quirky. The rooms are identical to the photos and the staff is extremely helpful. If you have any kind of handicap, be careful of your room choice. Our room was 201 but we had to take the lift to either the 3rd floor and walk down or to the first floor and walk up. There are also a few steps to go down to the bathroom. Oh, they have a square toilet!! Made for interesting conversation. I would stay here again for it's cleanliness and location. Just lovely!
Very nice hotel, very close from Piazza Navona, historical center of Rome. We stated here the third time and very pleased. The room is very clean, quite.Helpful and attentive stuff, Many restaurants and cafe nearby, 10-15 minutes walk to all attractions of Roma. I highly recommend this Hotel to everyone!!
SURPRISING AND CHARMING We really didn't expect to find such a pleasant and above all expectations atmosphere! Nestled among the enchanting alleys in the heart of Rome, it is perfect for reaching the main attractions of the city in a short time. We were surprised by the authenticity of this historic building mixed with a modern style studied in detail. Rooms with a minimal and modern style but at the same time a warm and comfortable environment that does not neglect any comfort and has all the essentials. Impeccable cleaning every day. Comfortable bed, soundproofed room, great Wifi connection. Professionalism of the staff available 24 hours a day and above all of Maria Laura really very kind. A small terrace on the top floor. It was great to relax after a long day with a great cocktail and enjoy the sunset view. In short, nothing is missing to spend a fabulous weekend! We can't wait to come back!…
Very nice hotel in the heart of Rome nearby Piazza Navona,Vatican and Spanish steps. The room was roomy, modern and very clean. Reception open 24h, the staff always helpful and very kind. Hope to be back soon!Recommended!!!
I wrote this review right after checking out and the hotel replied with some inaccurate information that I wanted to address. My original review and the hotel's reply are included below. Original Review - This hotel is overrated in my opinion. The rooms are cute and all unique, but they are humid with little temperature control and ours had an impractical layout (bathroom down a flight of stairs quite far from the main bedroom area). The website and on-site flyers describe bar service from 18:00-23:00 on the rooftop patio, but the bar was never open in the time we were there. Our room wasn’t ready until half an hour past the stated check in time. When we arrived, the location is challenging enough that the taxi refused to bring us to the door and dropped us a 7 minute walk/street level up from the entrance. There is also not a convenient metro stop, you must walk 10+ minutes to get to the nearest. The staff is minimal and not very friendly or helpful (a departure from our other experiences in Italy). We checked out on the Sunday of the marathon, which made getting a taxi a bit of a challenge, and the staff’s response was basically “you’re screwed and we can’t help you.” We researched and discussed what to do quite a bit and landed on just getting up extra early to beat the marathon traffic. We told the hotel staff this and asked if there would be someone there to call us a cab in the morning, they said yes. So then they automatically called for one at 6:30 AM, but gave us no warning or indication that they were going to or had gotten a cab. By the time we came down at 7:00 there was already a 25 euro charge on the meter. The staff didn’t even bother to call the room and tell us the cab was there and the meter was running. The cute factor and ok location do not make up for the other faults in my opinion. If just one or two of these things had been an issue I could have written it off, and certainly I could have researched better on the location, but given the multitude of issues we experienced, I do not recommend this hotel. Don’t get caught up in the beautiful photos on the website - look closely at the location and consider your needs and expectations from a 4 star European hotel. Hotel Reply - Dear Mrs. Sarah, in first place i would like to apologize if your experience wasn't worth it; let me please give some quick and exhaustive note regarding some of your claims. let's start with the weather; humid in Rome, yes it is! you know under the level and directly next to a river the area can some times come out humid especially if during the day it's really sunny and hot and during night the temperature fly down of 10 or more degrees, nothing concerning about our rooms, so inside our building that are air-conditioned on request. the reception is available 24 hours per 7 days to satisfy and help on necessity. let's get to the part of YOUR taxi driver that didn't drop you off at our hotel, this is a complaint that maybe you can gently direct to the taxi company, because nothing under our control. regarding the metro stop, most of the hotels are note that close to the metro stop. Rome is that big and in the historic city center we do have just 1 line of metro service; hard to accept, i know! but we can not gain more at the moment due to continuous historic discoveries, after all we are located in a city of almost 2700 years. let's get to our very point, the bathroom of your room is not located in another floor and you do not even have to do a flight of stairs! IT IS EXACTLY 2 STEP inside your same room it is basically on another level (2 steps) an architecture choice for a large room. the bar service is always available on request, the reception as mentioned before and on all our website is available 24 hours a day. the taxi service was requested by you to the reception after the reception advised all the departures that supposed to check-out that same day and informed all of them about the possibility to run into some slowdown traffic due to the marathon, again not our choice to have that day a marathon in the city and let's see it as a taking care of our costumer. you have requested the service for 6.30 am to the train station. sadly our costumer service is our power factor, and we are sorry you did not enjoy your trip. for more clarification you are free to get in touch with us, we are more than happy to help you. best regards, RELAIS ORSO Additional notes from me - I am aware of the weather in Rome, which is why I booked a room in a hotel with air conditioning. However, in the room we were given the only air conditioning unit was in the bathroom, which was down a hallway from the bedroom and provided little to no climate control in the majority of the room. We were only in Rome a day and half with two nights in the hotel, so we did not feel it worth the time to ask for and move to a new room, so I cannot comment on how that would have been handled. The hotel reply stated that there were two steps between the bathroom area and bedroom area - this is inaccurate, there were 5. This may seem a petty difference, but for someone with mobility issues, it might not be. Our room was also not totally accessible by lift; we could take the lift to the 1st floor, then had to go up another flight of stairs to access the room. The staff made no offer to help with bags, but we also did not ask. Our friends' room was not like this - they could access it directly from the lift and it did not have steps in it. I point these things out not to offend the hotel, but to make anyone with mobility issues aware that you should ask for a room without steps or be sure to speak up about help with bags. Same thing with the metro stop location - it's just something people should be aware of and I did mention in my original review that not more closely researching the location was my fault. Taxi Issue - Again, I was not trying to offend anyone by pointing out that the taxi did not get us close to the door for drop off, it was to alert others that if your driver tries to do this, tell them you need to get closer to the door. When we arrived we assumed the driver dropped us so far away because he couldn't get any closer, had we known ahead of time that he could, we would have asked. Bar Service - We assumed when we saw a closed bar that it was closed. Nobody had told us and there was no sign that stated that if we wanted the rooftop bar open we needed to ask at reception. Departure Issue - I am aware that the hotel has no control over the date and route of the marathon. However, they do have control over warning guests about this upon arrival. They said they did in their reply, but they most definitely did not. We only learned about the marathon because we asked reception if a taxi would be able to get closer to the door than they did for drop off - the staff member said yes, but then told us we wouldn't be able to get a taxi because of the marathon. This was the night before our departure/the marathon. Had we not asked this question, I do not believe we would have been "informed" about the marathon. Perhaps the staff realized after this interaction with us that it could be an issue for other guests and got in touch with them. Also, we did not ask for a taxi to be called at 6:30 AM. We told the staff that to solve the taxi/marathon issue we were going to leave extra early. The staff took it upon themselves to call us a taxi - they note here that we requested a taxi to the train station, but we were going to the airport; they also called 2 cabs since there were 4 of us, but we would have requested one van cab. Calling the taxis could have been helpful, but they did not tell us what time or that they had actually called one or bother to call the room when the taxi arrived and we did not come down within 10 minutes or so. My apologies to whoever replied for offending you - given the all caps and tone of your reply it seems you certainly were upset. But there were some things that were upsetting to us during our stay as well. The bottom line here is that anyone booking this hotel should be aware of several things before choosing it or before traveling. Some of them we could have done a better job of preparing ourselves for, others the hotel could have communicated better about. If you have mobility issues, make sure you know what room you are getting and research the location carefully. Be exceptionally clear with staff and do not be afraid to speak up for your needs - it seems as if the hotel is willing to accommodate, but you have to ask (this is different from my other experiences at 4-star European hotels). If these things are not a problem for you, then this hotel is in a fine location, walkable to a lot, and does have unique/cute rooms. Just be aware of what comes alongs with that.…
Excellent hotel, very polite and friendly staff, always available. The location near the Pantheon, Vatican, via del corso etc. absolutely ideal for seeing the whole center on foot without ever having to take a taxi. Well-finished and well-cleaned rooms. The very roof top We will be back very gladly.
The hotel is located in the centre of Rome, near Navona, pretty close to those places of interest. Clean, cozy, friendly staff, quiet and secure. Maria Laura is a very nice patient gal, helped me with laundry and moving my suitcases to the new place. She has the answer of every difficulty. Definitely will be back again.
