Very comfortable family suite, ideal for 5, in a well-located hotel for getting around to see the sites. The suite is two bedrooms with a well-appointed bathroom. Good range of choices for breakfast on 5th floor covered, sunny terrace with views of St Peter's Basilica, where afternoon tea is also available during the day. Has wifi but can be a...

This was our third time staying at Hotel Madrid. I haven't bothered to look into any other hotels as I know hotel Madrid will suit our needs perfectly. This hotel has loads of character. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We love the squishy lift and the whole look of the place. It feels like you are staying in...

This was my second stay at the Hotel Madrid...not much has changed in 15 years. Don't see many upgrades, and the beds are still on the hard side, but this may be the best location in Rome. A quiet area near the Spanish Steps and in between all major attractions. The price is reasonable and the staff is pleasant. Some...

From the warm welcome at the reception desk, to the smiling and helpful staff in the breakfast room located in the 5th floor restaurant, where an ample daily buffet is served whilst one can enjoy panoramic roof-top views over Rome, to the super comfortable room, my mother and I had the most delightful Roman holiday that we were very much...

If clinical 5 star hotels are your thing then Hotel Madrid isn't for you. It is an older hotel refurbished to modern standards with all you need for your holiday. It does only offer breakfasts but it is in an area with many good value restaurants available. Set in a charming area in the historic centre of Rome it is...

As has been said. This hotel is very well located near the Trevy Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon and the Coliseum. Compact and clean with a friendly and helpful staff. Front desk arranged transportation from train station to hotel and from hotel to FCO for, 50 and 75 Eu respectively. Also, plenty of restaurants and shops near by. Worth repeating.

We spent 4 days in Rome in this hotel, the service was amazing, the location perfect, very close to Spanish steps and Trevi fountain, also other places like pantheon. A lot of restaurants and shops around, the room and hotel is old but everything is working perfect. And the breakfast was so good, in the warm roof garden, beautiful view,...

This is little gem in its category (three-star hotel): great location in a quiet street, a block away from Piazza di Spagna. Nice and clean rooms, great for the colder months (we had to turn off our heating, it was too much), double-glass windows, black-out curtains, in-room stocked frigobar, wonderful service from all the staff. Breakfast includes fresh pastries and...

Very pleased with this hotel right next to piazza di Spagna. The room and bathrooms are nice and tidy. The personnel very attentive, nice and supportive. Breakfast was good and various, from sweets to cheeses and eggs. I would suggest to drop by.

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
