This is our hotel in Rome. We have stayed here multiple times since 2010. Papa's is a two star that has all the things that meet our needs. It is secure with 3 keys needed at night to get through the outside door to your room. The room has a safe for valuables. It is located about 5 blocks from... More

Nice and inexpensive hotel/hostel close to Termini. Lots of good food and shops around. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The only downside is the surrounding area can be quite noisy if you like to sleep with a window open. The breakfast is so so

I had an unopened bottle of wine in my room and they took it while I was gone for the day... All staff were grumpy and everything was a nuance for them. Breakfast is alright eggs, old fruit, super sweet yogurt and acceptable cereal. When we had an early morning booked they refused to let us take any breakfast to... More

My family and I stayed for a couple of nights while in Rome. The room and bathroom are small but clean. The staff was good and friendly. There is no elevator so be prepared to haul your luggage up a few flights of stairs. The typical European continental breakfast was served in the morning. It's a convenient short walk from... More

Nice place between termini and republic plaza so easy to get around. Surprisingly good food around and there is a daily Street market on the next street. Stayed in a double room and the bed is actually two separate beds put together so a bit weird. Seems to be similar in other Italian places though.

Great price for a very quiet hotel room. Room had everything you need and included towels. Easy walk from termini and lots of restaurants and markets nearby to load up on goods. Definitely would stay again.

First of all hotel is located on perfect location. If your plane for Rome is to go arond the city all day and just to sleep in clean normal room this is a place for you. Lot of stores and a big supermarket near by..

This is a good cheap, very clean and relatively central hotel. Around £50 per night in winter incl taxes. It used to be a hostel, we had a group of young girls having drinks in the room next to us which isn't the hotels fault but just demonstrates that the type of people who stay are generally younger. Very small... More

I don't have any complaints about this hostel. I only stayed one night, but I enjoyed it. They have good security and the bathroom was kept clean. I would recommend this place for any thrifty traveler!

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
