We have stayed at this hotel twice in 3 months and found the staff very accomodating and helpful. They even sent a vehicle to pick us up from the airport. The rooms are clean, simple and modern and situated right in the part of town where the local life takes place. There are loads of bars, restaurants and shops in...

We arrived slightly later then expected and when we tried the buzzer of the guest house there was no answer. Panicked I checked my emails for a contact number or other address but no avail. Luckily a couple who had been staying there returned to pick up something they had forgotten and managed to contact the owner who arrived in...

We arrived at the guest house late at night. We took the train from the airport to the Trastevere train station which cost approx. €8 and then got a taxi from the train station to the hotel which cost approx. €10. We had trouble finding it in the dark, but look for the Al Bozza restaurant and it is directly...

Stayed end of July, so air conditioning had to work hard to keep temperature comfortable. Which it just about managed to do. Owners/staff friendly on arrival. Never saw them again. Left keys in room on departure. Easy and no fuss. Bathrooms are nice, beds were fine. All is relatively new, so all seams clean and appealing. Decor is a little...

Having specifically looked for accommodation in Trastevere that was both contemporary in style and affordable, I was delighted with this find. As other reviewers have said, the location is ideal, situated in the bustle of Trastevere but within walking distance of all the main sites of Rome. (Not that I recommend walking in Rome in the July heat, but that's...

I was traveling solo on a trip to Rome and found this guest house to rent when I arrived. The rooms and incredibly clean, neat, tidy, and comfortable with amazing bathrooms, air-conditioning and huge beautiful windows. The place was also very quiet even when there were people staying in all of the guest rooms. The bed was also the most...

Booked this as a base for 4 days, not having been to Rome before. This is a second floor suite of 5 apartments with a small communal kitchen, rarely used and a lovely roof terrace for drinks. The rooms are clean and comfortable, air conditioned and reasonably spacious. The property is generally is unstaffed mainly so you come and go...

My partner and I spent a few days here for my 40th Birthday in May. We both really enjoyed our stay and would return in a heartbeat. The accommodation is comfortable, spotless and right in the centre of all the attractions. The streets around Finestra are all cobbled and have beautiful restaurants that are very reasonably priced. We both loved...

My Wife and I spent a few days in Rome over a long weekend for her 40th. I decided to book in Trastevere on the recommendation of people who have been before, it is ideally located to go out and explore the city but also return to a location where there are bars and restaurants which don't charge 'tourist' prices...

Really enjoyed our stay in Finestra su Trastevere. All the main areas of interest in Rome are within easy walking distance and the district of Trastevere is lovely. Would recommend this place as it is clean and comfortable and situated in a lovely square with nice restaurants.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.

“Our room faced the Pazza....ideal to view Trastevere life and people watch. I imagine rooms at the back will be quieter but to be honest the Piazza has life below not a 24 hour carnival, so my preference would be at the front.”
