We have traveled to Rome, 7 times. Hotel Trastevere is among our favorites. We booked directly, after having horrible experiences with Expedia. They were helpful with booking, suggested ways to get to the hotel and places to eat near the hotel. The breakfast was good,...More
An adorable little hotel in walking distance from Rome's great antiquities. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and the breakfast is ample and good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel located on a quiet street.
The property was clean and rooms well appointed, bathrooms updated and clean. Staff was very helpful, friendly and attentive, and always willing to assist with excursion questions. Car was arranged by hotel to pick us up from airport and return us after our vacation, drivers...More
My mother and I stayed here for 4 nights of our trip then returned for an additional 2 nights. The hotel is in the perfect location in Trastevere with lots of restaurants and shops in the heart of the city. The staff was extremely nice...More

Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable
eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
Hotel Trastevere is a few minutes walk to buses and trams, there is also a light bus that goes to piazza garibaldi and continues to the Vatican. As for night life it's all literally just around the corner.....

We did the trip the other way around. Took the train from Civitavecchia to Trastevere and the tram from just outside the station to a short walk to the hotel. We had the hotel reserve a car for us to the airport on leaving so we were confident we would arrive in time. We each had a moderate size suitcase and are seniors, but managed fine. All the hotel staff are very helpful with any information.
