We spent a night here before a W. Med cruise. This hotel is lovely and located within walking distance to most of the key sights in Rome. The room was perfect for three of us and the bathroom was modern. Our room also had a private patio, which was a nice spot for stargazing. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast and... More

Every time I come back to this hotel, I remember why I return: perfectly situated, small and peaeful, courteous staff, clean and comfortable rooms, nice lobby, good, thogu not great breakfast. A typical european hotel and worth staying. Just next to Pantheon and good restautants. Nice! Wow!

We enjoyed this hotel because it was a stones throw from the Pantheon and it provided ample space for our Family of 5 (children aged 13, 10 and 7). It was a great value! The service was very average. But if you are looking for a good place to sleep, with a central location after spending all day touring Rome... More

We had 2 days left on our family European trip and MISTAKENLY thought that Airbnb would be a good option. What a mistake. Luckily Alberto Santa chiara was 300 metres away and when I walked in the front door I felt very at home and welcomed. I immediately got my family out of that Airbnb hell hole and into a... More

Staying 5 nights and already two has passed and I can't even think of a reason not to like this hotel. The emplacement and the service are a blast. The rooms are very clean and the breakfast provided is reasonably varied. I would recommend this hotel to all the Rome fanatics wanting to spend a time in the very center... More

We loved the family room/ suite which easily accommodated 4 people including 2 teenagers. The room was a little warm, which is not unexpected in the heat of the summer. The location of the hotel is perfect for walking to major tourist sites and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were particularly grateful for being allowed to check... More

We stayed here one night (family of 4). In the heart of Rome - on the door step of the Pantheon (30 second walk!). The rooms faced inwards so absolutely no noise from outside. AC worked amazingly, rooms very clean and new. Highly recommend. Close to all the attractions in Rome. Breakfast was very good as well. Friendly and helpful... More

First of all the location of this hotel couldn't be more perfect! You are staying in the heart of Rome on the back side of the Pantheon. They have a taxi service so we were picked up at the airport and dropped off at the door of the hotel. We checked in within 5 minutes and much earlier than 2... More

The positive here is you can't beat the location, very central, right behind the Pantheon. So great walking distance everywhere. We stayed 3 nights over 2 trips, before and after a cruise. I found it to be very over priced for the quality of the hotel. It looks like they have updated some of the rooms with key cards, our... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your comment even if it is not 100% positive. Our policy is to learn from it in order to improve our service. If you dont mind walking 10-20 minutes you can see major sites of Rome. Half hour walk to Vatican to the west and half hour or all to central train station. 15-20 minute walk to night life and excellent dinners and drinks in Trastevere. There are plenty of busses that are very helpful. The hotel was clean, air conditioned, and... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Who we are The history of the Albergo Santa Chiara begins in 1939. At the first it was a "wine-shop" then changed into a small inn, enlarged in the following years, the 10 rooms of the first days have become now 96, distributed in 3 adjoining buildings. In one of them is located the Saint Catherine from Siena's Chapel. The old lobby, on the contrary, has become a theatre. You can't miss a short chat at one of the table of our open-air bar, quiet and private, that overlooks the Minerva Square. The most affectionate guests love the wide and classic styled rooms, younger prefers the modern and high-tech ones. The hotel service is impeccable, the rooms are very clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. You will find this is a friendly, relaxed hotel that will make you feel right at home. The hotel has been in the same family ownership for nearly a century. The ground floor hall has seen the proclamation of the Popular Party by Don Sturzo, the rooms have counted the steps of Noble prizes such as Amartya Sen, Franco Modigliani and clergy men later be became Popes, politicians then elected Republican President, philosophers, artists, writers from Fogazzaro to Sartre to Banana Yoshimoto. ... more   less
