Simple and perfect - very well located and with an amazing Italian breakfast. The room is quite fancy with good services. A great choice for a limited budget vs. a very nice hotel. Very close to small local restaurants and subway hubs. Definably a good choice - a must see.

We love this hotel. The location, by the Spanish steps was perfect. It was an easy walk to Trevino fountain and many of Rome's major attractions. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The breakfast is first class and room was great. This was our second stay and it was as good as our first. Congratulations. We will be back.

Location does not get much better than this. Very close to Spanish stairs, Trevi fountain etc. Great neighbourhood, with super restaurants just outside the door and a great vibe. Hotel itself is old'ish and a bit run down, but clean and has what you need. Fantastic breakfast terrace. Would use again

I have lost count of how many times we have stayed at the Hotel San Carlo. There is no reason to stay anywhere else. The location is perfect - you can easily walk to all the sights. The metro is 2 blocks away. If you prefer a taxi, there is a taxi stand on the via Corso one block away.... More

We have stayed here 3-4 times in the past and love the location, 3 blocks from the Spanish steps in the central pedestrian area, conveniently located in centro. The room had been renovated recently and was pleasant, comfortable bed, good wifi, and quiet as it overlooked the back lane way. However, the bathroom smelled musty as it was not properly... More

We stayed here on a Rick Steves tour. Our room was on the 5th floor. There's a small elevator that will hold 2 people and 2 bags. We used it often. We were miserable the first night as the air conditioner wouldn't work. They told us they would have it fixed the next day, and they did. So our other... More

The hotel is located in one of the best location in Rome, walking distance to almost all attraction areas. All staff is very friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean. Breakfast is more than expected and we did not experience any problems during our stay. Certainly recommend instead of more expensive central hotels or especially instead of chains located... More

I was on a tour of Venice, Florence, and Rome and this was the first hotel where the A/C really worked well! The room was snug but the bathroom was a decent size. The location in the thick of things both for walking and accessing the metro. Breakfast had a good variety and had cold milk, one thing I miss... More

This hotel is a great choice for Rome. It's very centrally located, in fact just a few blocks from the Spanish Steps. It's immaculately clean with a really good breakfast up on the rooftop terrace. I'm traveling solo and got a really nice cozy (as opposed to cramped) single room (#33) at a very good price. The staff are also... More

Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina.
