Rome is a wonderful city that I appreciate very very much. the food, the monuments, the culture, It´s always na opportunity to flirt with history an imagine all the periods of romantic moments of emperors, devastation, religion, politicians. And the restaurants, and the churchs. you eat well you shop even better and you leave the city waiting to come back...

We drove to the airport with a man who stays stays at the San Carlo at least once a month and who shares our view of the San Carlo - it is like staying with friends. It is a very clean comfortable hotel with an ideal location and wonderful staff. We stay here at least two and maybe three times...

Last week was our 4th time to stay at the San Carlo - it is our "home in Rome." Everything is fresh, clean and up-to-date. One of the most important features is that each room has its own HVAC controls - you control it year-round. The bathrooms are well-appointed. The beds are great and the linens crisp and clean. There...

Location of hotel is excellent; near Spanish Steps, Via Condotti for shopping, etc. The staff is superior. Helpful people at the desk to provide directions and helpful people to handle suitcases, provide clean rooms and wonderful breakfast in the morning. When I return to Rome, I'll only stay at this hotel!

This hotel is squarely on the Rick Steves circuit, with a nice plug in the Italy guidebooks and Rick Steve tours staying here. It is extremely well located a few blocks from the Spanish steps in the heart of old Rome, surrounded by luxury shopping. Most everything is walkable from here, including the Tiber River (a few blocks), the forum...

The owners of this Hotel were very helpful and someone was at the front desk at all times, the rooms were beautiful and clean, the water pressure not that good but that did not matter, air conditioner work beautifully. The staff was helpful with all our needs, excellant location within minutes of the Spanish Steps and the Metro Spagna stop,...

I stayed with my family in this hotel and in general I have a positive experience despite a few mishaps. On the bright side: fantastic location close to Spanish Steps (just around the corner), the metro, in a nice area with nice cafes and restaurants ; close to bustling via del corso et Piazza del Poppolo; very nice breakfast on...

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
