Rooms do not rate the exorbitant price. Multiple people complaining to front desk about non-working AC. Ours worked the first night and then stopped for a couple of days, started again and then failed. The listing says the rooms have 17 th century antiques. The only antique was the hard, lumpy uncomfortable bed. Only book if you somehow get a bargain rate because the location is good. The staff were not to blame; they seemed genuinely dedicated.
We had a dinner in the bar, the guy was supernice, we got a small trip. The hotel was very nice and the beef tartare was the best. We like the movie Mr. Wick so it was nice experience. More 50 characters ………………………………………………………////./.://////….:)
We've stayed at this hotel many times in the past when it was considered a 5 star property but it certainly isn't that now. We booked the suite for 3 nights and arrived late Friday night from London. The room keys didn't work when we attempted to enter the room so we had to go back down to reception to try and get the keys replaced. Unfortunately, the problem didn't get solved quickly nor did the person at reception offer any assistance and said we will have to sort it out tomorrow. They eventually let us into our room where we discovered a very noisy air conditioner that required someone else to fix it. The bedside lamp didn't work but we left it for the next day when we realised we couldn't boil the kettle because the power point didn't work either. Again, staff were in the room fixing the power point, lamp and air conditioner the next day - things that should have been tested and fixed before we (or anyone else) checked in to the room. Breakfast was extremely slow and inedible: overdone poached eggs that were soaking in water, half-cooked dry toast, a burnt omelette, and tasteless mushrooms that were probably from a tin. The bacon showed up 15 minutes after the eggs and when I ordered it (again) the next day it was cold so I mentioned it to the staff who suggested I don't send it back because "you know how long it took yesterday." I asked for freshly squeezed orange juice but was served juice that came from a can or box which was confirmed the next day by another waiter. Poor quality fruit too. Breakfast was so bad my partner couldn't stomach the idea of it on the day we were checking out. Other guests in the breakfast room were clearly agitated with how long their breakfasts were taking to arrive. Room service was extremely slow too and after phoning twice I went downstairs to get some milk as it wasn't provided in our room when we arrived, nor was there any bottled water. We met with the Sales Manager who didn't want to listen to the issues we were raising and just argued with us when we tried to provide feedback regarding our experience. She said, "New guests love the place and it's only returning guests who complain and perhaps we shouldn't accept returning guests." Upon departure, we requested a copy of the account as we had been staying at the property for 3 nights and wanted to check the items that we were paying for but were advised they couldn't print it. Nor did they offer to email it.…
We stayed at the Grand Plaza Hotel for 4 nights! It was perfect. While old, it had an old world charm and was very comfortable. It was great to have two bedrooms to separate the adults from the teens and the bathroom had all the needed accoutrements. All staff members were friendly and helpful. We received two restaurant recommendations from them that were not tourist traps and were quite excellent! The location was perfect. We could not have stayed in a more central location. My only feedback is messaging. There was a sign advertising drinks and food on the rooftop (which was lovely!) but when we went up it wasn’t open. They should not rely on the guests to ask. Other than that, highly recommend!!
Excellent location. The room with terrace had a magnificient view over the city. Top cleanlines. Friendly service and everything worked. Second time in this hotel and not the last one. Beautiful traditional decor. Close to everything. Quiet room on the fourth floor
Having stayed here numerous times prior to Covid, I was keen to go back, especially after the hotel claimed a 2-year-renovation. Since prices tripled since my last stay, I was keen to experience the new look and arranged a group of 7 travelers to stay there for 2 nights before going on a cruise through the Mediterranean. Needless to say, we were all more than excited about this trip. The hotel was a total failure. I did not see any renovation, but soon realized the lack of trained staff to meet the requirements of a 5-star-hotel. Some of my friends insisted to move within the hotel, because nothing in their rooms worked, from air conditioning to drainage in the bathrooms. This cut took some precious hours away from our stay in Rome. Another couple wanted to leave the premises on an instant. They were so appalled by it all, but they were not able to find accommodation nearby on such short notice. The roof top bar had no service at all and breakfast was disastrous. The same girl who tried to do bar service at night, was also on the breakfast shift. We were clearly taken for a ride, having paid top dollar. I felt very disappointed, especially since I suggested this place to begin with. The only thing which deserves 5-stars is the location, but next time in Rome, I’d rather walk!…
They claim to be a 5 star hotel. We popped into the bar and the drink were awful. The bartender had to keep asking another person how to make our very common drinks. He even told he she needs to study more (in Italian). My dirty olive martini came as ONLY vermouth and a lemon twist. Wouldn’t ever go back.
My favourite place to stay in Roma. We went here just after Valentines. Amazing facilities, beautiful views of the city and convenient to local amenities and shops. The food inside the hotel is good as well. They have several restaurants around the hotel area which all provide a different experience. Hotel offers you experience that you will never forget. I also highly recommend this hotel for their very good management team and Concierge. Style was everywhere. The trendy upscale ambiance, fabulous culinary options including in-room dining (and adaptations for allergies) is top shelf. Just wish the fine dining was open 7 nights a week. Room was absolutely amazing! Great view, comfortable bedroom and a good shower size. The beds were so comfortable and the bedding was top notch. Overall - an Excellent hotel. We had a wonderful stay. The staff were very accommodating, The food was very good. The hotel is close to everything. We look forward to return here soon.…
Spend a long weekend in a Deluxe Room w/ view on room 311. Although the room I stayed in has the usual wear and tear particularly the parquet flooring, for me it adds to its charm and soul. Great location. The hotel is surrounded by high end boutiques and walking distance to some major attractions.
All fantastic, the hotel is in a great location and staying there is a magical experience Staff are very helpful Only downside is a poor breakfast for a large price coffee and tea is cold and every morning we had to ask for big spoons to eat the cereal Definitely going back but next time having breakfast out
