Save your money. Do not go there. NOTHING is good at this hotel. It is old, smells bad, bathroom is ugly and not clean. Expensive hotel, worst 5 star hotel I ever stayed. We switched rooms. Same thing

This is the most disappointing hotel I've stayed in my 30 years of traveling the world. It's so old and tired that it's depressing. Every carpet in this hotel needs to be replaced. Every single one. Stained, dirty and rippled. The elevators smell like a sewer. This is what first greets you when u arrive. The staff does its best...

Spent a few days this past December with my two teenage daughter, so location is everything to me. Grand Old Hotel, the Lounge is even more breathtaking than in the photos!! All the staff is very friendly and professional. The rooms are fine, nice size, with comfy beds and kept very clean. That having been said, the rooms are nothing...

Yes! It's perfect for families! We stayed in a double connecting room. On entry there was a bathroom and one bedroom to the right and one to the left - perfect for 2. Adults and 2 children. You can't beat the location of this hotel . It is right on the shopping strip with taxis across the road and great...

My husband & I just returned from our wonderful honeymoon in Rome. Last week, we stayed at this hotel which was not lacking in historic beauty & elegance. It felt like stepping back in time, you could easily see some well known director doing a film on location here. The concierge was pleasant, helpful & multilingual and on first sight...

This is not your usual hotel. It is an old converted theatre. The faded opulence is definitely a bit threadbare. But it has a great charm about it. The location is perfect as well being situated right in the middle of just about anything. Personally I loved it and will be going back. But don't be fooled by the 5*L...

I believed that the "L" was for luxury, but I could find it in the Grand Hotel Plaza. When we arrived, the reception area, main lounge and staff were excellent, but it was all down hill from there.... We went to our rooms, on floor 5, via the two lifts, both of which had a distinct smell of sewers through...

Old world meets modern infrastructure The hotel is ideally positioned to move around Rome on foot but i have to admit the rooms are sub-5 star standard Yo cannot fault the location. You can easily walk to all the main attractions Rome has to offer However, the hotel was a bit of a disappointment to my first experience of Rome....

The location of this hotel was in the center of the room near the via Del Corso between the Piazza Del Popolo and Piazza Venezia. A Perfect place for us to stay and walk throughout town and enjoy the many monuments in squares. From this location we were able to easily access Spanish steps, Trevi fountain, the Colosseum, before him...

This Hotel was in a great location, for sight seeing and shopping but unfortunately the standard of service on the reception desk and in the breakfast room was very poor. We had a problem with the Air con in our room (at 30c it was too warm!) and when we complained to the reception desk they said that it was...

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
