This hotel, if you could call it that is nothing less than disgusting. Upon check in we were greeted by rude check in staff who no more wanted to be there than the man on the moon. Getting into the lift I felt as if I was in a mine shaft. The room? Well there are prisoners lying in clean sheets and Hotel De Pétris expects guests to lie in other people’s stains, lovely. The cleaners must have passed out with the smell about 6 months ago. Stains all over the bed, pillows and walls, hairs on the sheets, on the toilet, stains in the shower and toilet, need I go on? Went to reception to ask to change rooms and I’m sorry I ever asked. The first room made the second look like the ritz, and the third one we received was even worse again. Lasted an hour in this hotel, which I feel was still too long. • Rude staff •Filthy rooms • could pickle eggs in the smell Only good thing is the location, which is a drop in the ocean when compared to all the cons that the hotel offers. To summarise it up, I wouldn’t send my grandfather to this hotel and he is: 1) blind 2) got no sense of smell 3) dead …
Ok so this is a pretty affordable hotel so do not expect, like, the Hilton. It is an independent, European hotel in older buildings. Here are the pros and cons as I see it: pros Location is fantastic, very central but on a quieter street. You are in the heart of the city and can walk to most attractions. Our rooms had tile floors so no dodgy carpet. Newer bathrooms. Hair dryer in bathroom. Rooms were clean. The staff was friendly and spoke good English. The room had a safe. Cons We stayed a whole week and the wifi only worked on the first night. We made repeated inquiries but no progress was made. Assume you will have no wifi. The pillows were thin and kind of hard. You need to run the water in the shower for a while and keep the faith that the hot really is on the left. But after that it is ok. There was an in-cash only €4 per person per night “tax” (I think they mean “surcharge”). The rooms were very compact but that is pretty much to be expected.…
I really wanted to be positive about this hotel but find it quite hard. We turned up down a lovely little side street ,5mins walk form the panish steps and the Trevi fountain. It looks a great hotel from the outside. We came in to reception lovely bright and clean with polite staff. We were then told to take lift 1,This where it got bad,This lift is tiny 0.50 wide shoulder width by 1.2 m deep, this lift must be 50 years old!! did not feel safe. Our room was clean and all the amenitys you need,We dumped our bags and left for the day.Next morning we went for breakfast, big mistake 07.30 nothing left but some beans or chick peas or somthing. i asked the woman for breakfast and she threw 2 crappy croissants in a basket.all the meats and cheese had gone so we cut our losses and went to the little cafe 50 yrds down the street,The day didnt get any better .As it was our wedding annaversary and i had ordered a bottle for our room for when we returned.Yeah we returned to Nothing so i went to ask where it was and was told they would bring it up but the moment had passed and i cancelled it.only for them to try and charge me on check out. They also advertised a roof top bar with a poster in the lift but when we got up there we was told it was closed for the winter.( Well take the poster down!!!) Also please note the city tax is €4pppn paid in cash only they will not take card!…
For short stays you need comfort bad to sleep and conditions to shower, neither you will get in this hotel, bads are old with blankets (pre-historic ), bathroom so small that you can not have relaxed shower...room is ruined(old carpets, dirty curtains, old furniture)..all hotel is confused where to go, lift so small , only one person with baggage can enter..good thing is terrace where breakfast is served and location near Di Trevi fontain..I do not reccommend this hotel.
The bed was really uncomfortable, the pillows were bad. The AIR CONDITIONER didn’t work, the shower was tiny. The floor was wet even though we didn’t use the shower. It had a terrible smell, the smell is on our clothes and luggage now. The staff was really ignorant, barely said hello or goodbye. The breakfast was INSANELY terrible. There was not enough food, the bread was hard as a stone, the coffee was cold and they had only ham or cheese to choose between. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It shouldn’t be 3 stars, but maybe 1.
