The room was standard but nice and was comfortable enough for our weekend. Staff was very friendly and receptionist was very knowledgeable! Close to shops, restaurants and tube. Would definitely visit again

I loved their fresh organic breakfasts and the classy- rustic charm the hotel had. It was one of those hotels with couches in halls, and big keys you handed to the concierge before going out. Best part was that it was a block up from the Vatican itself.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, location was close to the train station, but not too close. If you like to walk (as we do) the Colosseum, Vatican, and Trastevere were all a long stroll away. Also, free breakfast had many options (cold cuts, fruit, bread, pastries, etc), and was on the great rooftop. And they serve you made to... More

This is a very quaint hotel. The key system is old school. You only have one key for the room, it's attached to a big curtain tassel, and you have to leave it at the front desk when you leave for the day. There are no do not disturb signs, so they go in and make your bed and give... More

Perfectly decent and serviceable hotel near the termini station. Very much enjoyed the friendly service. Nice roof terrace though perhaps a bit more could be made of it in the evenings (thinking here of some of the amazing hotel rooftop bars/lounge areas in Marrakech). Liked the neighbourhood, easy to get around Rome from. All in all a friendly and welcoming... More

The murano chandelier that hangs on the high ceiling stares as we lay on the bed. The morning sun shines on us as breakfast is at the terrace. Terracotta floor tiles and rustic simple decor but authentic. This is Rome . Real and authentic

My wife and I both travel frequently. Neither of us can remember being greeted as warmly and helpfully as we were when we checked into Hotel Columbia. The staff are incredibly gracious, and at check-in they gave us numerous tips that helped us make the most of our one-night stay in Rome. Our deluxe room was quite spacious and comfortable.... More

I stayed here with a large group of my family members for our four nights in Rome. The rooms weren't fancy but we had what we needed. The young man working the reception desk was very helpful with suggestions on sightseeing and how to use the public transit systems. Breakfast was also simple but good. However, we had a bit... We stayed at Hotel Columbia between 13th July and 16th July 2016. The reception staff were very friendly and spoke good English. The room was clean and a decent size - air conditioning worked well and shower had good pressure. Despite having a road-facing room, it was fairly quiet. Breakfast was plenty, and good quality. Waiting-on staff were all pleasant.... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
