Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

I have given a 2 star rating simply because I’ve stayed in better 3 star hotels. It is an old hotel, small rooms, lingering cigarette smell, bathroom was poor and the breakfast had hardly any choice- and no toaster for the breads. No little nice extras that you would expect in a hotel. And certainly not sound-proof. On the plus side, the area is good- near Termini, which was handy for catching a morning train to Florence the following day. It has air conditioning and staff are friendly. Whilst this hotel certainly wasn’t a total disaster, totally ok for sleeping in, I just feel I could have stayed in a better place had I spent more time in the booking process!

"Free" WIFI was really bad... didn't like that on a business trip. That was a really disappointing... Next time I'll choose a hotel with a good internet connection. For me that is a big deal on my trips.

I was allocated the smallest and most uncomfortable room at this hotel. Be careful when booking single supplement. they will literally place you in a closet. For the price I paid I was not happy with the accommodation. The bed was as hard as concrete, luckily for me I only came to the hotel to sleep. I was very tired from my excursions. If you are looking for comfort this is not it. The breakfast was mediocre at best. I did not eat at the hotel. I will not be returning.
