Horrible experience. Never Again. Hotel Staff is the worst I have experience in my entire life. I would not give this hotel more than 1 star (if any). Not happy at all with the rooms and the service. The front desk people were always outside smoking and I had to wait for them to finish their cigarettes to come in... More

We stayed 14 days. A friend made the reservation but the room was too small. Try for room 27 if possible. Nice size w/ balcony. Not facing the street so little residual noise. Breakfast was very good and the staff were all great. You have to bargain for the price. Don't go through a service. Call them direct to reserve.... More

We had to be redirected to this hotel due to a booking error on the part of the travel company. No complaints whatsoever. Charming hotel, brilliant staff with a 'can't do enough' attitude and only twenty minutes walk to the coliseum. Metro also quite close, along with several decent restaurants. Would stay there again.

The hotel is quirky with its beautifully eclectic collection of bits and bobs and it is well placed for travel into Rome with the metro being a 5 min walk away. Beautiful terrace garden but watch out for the Mosquitos!!! Simple breakfast but enough. Room basic but clean and ample for a short stay. Surrounding area seems a little run... More

We stayed for a week in Emona Aquaeductus. The rooms equipment is very decent, although the bathroom could have been cleaner and the beds were not super comfortable. We found the hotels lobby as well as the dining room very stylish and nice. The staff was polite. The breakfast which is included is good and offers great coffee! The hotel... More

After a short taxi ride from the central station (10 euro) the entrance to the hotel lived up to the on line images we had seen, a beautiful courtyard garden filled with mature plants and the sounds of running water from the water features. We were warmly welcomed and efficiently given our allocated rooms. My room was on the second... More

The hotel is in an ok area, but most of Rome is dirty so you have to look past that..... Nice garden entrance helpful staff, great breakfast, for Europe standards.... Small room and even smaller bathrooms but that's Italy .... A few nice restaurants nearby, we walked to many sites, but the metro is the best way to get around.... More

Sadly, we wouldn't really recommend this hotel. On the plus side: it's very clean, lots of character, and very good free wifi. On the negative side, the maintenance is poor (our room had super noisy aircon, mould corner, broken shutters). With the whirring aircon, decrepit shutters and rock-hard beds, sleep quality was terrible. Practically speaking, the location isn't great. There's... More

Hotel Emona is a very nice place to stay. The garden walk into the reception area welcomes you and relaxes the "tourist" anxieties. The staff is always ready to suggest, give directions, and truly makes your stay more enjoyable. Daniel is always there to make sure you are comfortable. Sit in the garden, enjoy the many varieties of plants. Many... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
