Brilliant location - 5 minute walk from Termini station and the area is active till late night. Staff spoke English which was helpful. The person who showed us to our rooms was very helpful (I feel sad to have forgotten his name). We were told that the lift is 100 years old and it did look ancient. Limited breakfast options... Great multi-lingual staff who were kind and helpful. Continental breakfast had good variety (granola was great)--serve yourself but nice wait staff took care of beverages. Nice size room for European hotel. Good lighting in rooms. Good wifi. We had a problem with a light and the AC when we first arrived but they fixed both quite promptly. Not far from... More

We stayed at this hotel before our trip around Italy. It was close to Termini station and quite easy to find. We arrived early and that caused no problem. The porter was informative about the room. The room itself was ok, just what we needed after a long journey and to put our heads down. The air conditioning was not... More

Very nice for just a few days. Somewhat dated amenities, but centrally located. Expanded continental breakfast was very good. Elevator was a challenge for more than three people. Staff was nice and attentive. We would recommend and stay there in the future.

Nice rooms, good breakfasts, very near train station. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel and our grandson made good use of the free internet. Hotel staff helpful and provide good tips on gelato and restaurant locations.

The room was lovely but over looked a back alley. The hotel was odd as had a few converted apartments into hotel rooms in an apartment block. The Dinning room was a collection of small rooms. But the service was friendly and ok.

Well, my wife booked the hotel using a book as a reference. The location was good, but we had trouble with the air conditioning. The breakfast was good and the staff was generally friendly. Air conditioning was not strong enough and we could not sleep some of the nights. I have to mention that it was pretty hot ~90 degrees... More

Nice hotel, very clean and good location, the staff would always be there to help however there wasn't one night where a full nights sleep was had. There was construction work going on at 8am one morning. If it wasn't that then it was the noises coming through the thin walls. Disappointing to come on a relaxing break and suffer... More

The hotel is okay, the rooms are fine and the location is good! However of 5 nights me and my friends didn't get 1 full nights sleep.. One morning there was work being done around the hotel from 7:45 which consisted of a loud banging constantly, other nights we could just hear other guests late into the night and early... More

We booked this hotel based on the recommendation in Rick Steve's travel guide and it was a good choice. Our room with spacious with a king size bed and nice bathroom. The bathroom was a bit small; had a shower, toilet, bidet and sink but the water pressure was good. It is a very old building with an old style... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
